Ernie is one of the few COA professors who lives human ecology rather than preach it. He is effective and articulate in his teachings, with an unforgiving eye and an unrelenting intellect.

I have not found Ernie to be very thorough, clear, or enthusiastic in his teaching. He has some great ideas and is obviously a great artist, but as a teacher he could improve if he solidified the structure of his classes, worked on leading group critiques/discussions, and let us know that he actually wants to be teaching at all.
