Dr. Acosta is a brilliant professor and mentor, and she is careful about making sure that all her students understand that complex ideas, such as postcolonial and feminist theory provide a larger and more thoughtful world view. She's also just a beautiful person with a Hello Kitty addiction.

Love Acosta. She is also my adviser and is wonderful. She was a professor I had to get used to and get to know on a personal basis in order to fully appreciate. But she loves what she does and the students and you can get a lot from her- more than just what you are reading.

Comment:

Acosta is definitely passionate about the material. Very lighthearted, and fun. Seemed a little preoccupied sometimes, not putting too much effort into grading papers, so, was for the most part an easier class. Not to say students slacked and didn't have to think, but more that the grading was VERY lenient. Smart, funny, passionate teacher.
