He references equations and theorems covered in class from days or weeks earlier (For example, "By theorem 3 of chapter 6"). This makes it near impossible to follow his lectures and genuinely understand the content. In effect, I was left to teach myself most of the course. It was very frustrating considering that I paid to have him teach me.

I was advised against taking a class with Kani, and I wish I had listened to that advice. Disrespectful towards students and easily frustrated when students don't understand concepts. Don't bother asking him for help, he will talk down to you. It's a real pity that he's given amazing material to teach, and doesn't do it justice.

I am now completing my masters in math so for the most part I enjoyed all my undergraduate classes in Math even with poor teaching but Professor Kani made me despise every subject I took with him (which was 2 courses). Unclear overhead notes, super boring monotone lectures, and just overall awful professor. Would never recommend to him to anyone.

Kani is without a doubt the worst prof I have encountered at Queen's. It baffles me that he is allowed to teach since he couldn't care less about the students. I'd advise against going to his office hours because he will laugh at you if you're struggling with a concept that he considers to be basic. Avoid any interaction with him.

Worst prof ever!!! You ask him a question and he answers "isn't it obvious?!". His lectures are so boring and basically a repeat of the book he wrote himself (bad book!). Weekly assignments are very long and tedious. The least considerate prof I have ever met - I had a medical note and he told me that it meant nothing. Don't ever take his class!
