Took 2 classes. Awesome instructor. Very upfront. Essay quizzes and tests in pen. Makes you think before writing. Used a 26 dollar textbook because he doesn't want student spending a lot on books. Calls out students texting during class. Take notes on what he covers in class. If you can write at English 101 level, his classes are not difficult.

Essay tests, no multiple choice. You do have to write some fair sized papers and you must study for tests. Write down what he says as best you can, the book only helps a little. He is unique in the sense that he has a very interesting way of teaching US history sense he is not from here but from the Netherlands.

Hands down one of the best if not the best tutors I've had. He makes learning so simple and thrilling. You would want to attend every class as you'd enjoy and yearn for it in every session. If you pay attention to his fun lectures and take notes , you should be all set. Very intelligent and super cool personality too. You won't be disappointed.

This guy is fun to listen to as he has a nice Dutch accent and adds funny jokes to his lectures. He tries to switch up the media between videos, lectures and participation. He really cares about his students, as evidenced by getting grades back to you quickly, and being willing to proofread your paper and suggest changes before you hand it in.

He made learning interesting, considering I've alwasy struggled with paying attention in History class. He gives a review guide for tests, so make sure you study that and you should do well on the test. He does his best to make the 3 hour night class funinteresting. He even brings coffee and tea :)

Ernst is the coolest. Although his 3 hour night classes are beyond boring he tries to make up for it by bringing treats and supplying coffee. He often breaks out into song and pops in a few TV shows and movies just to keep you there for an extra hour. If it wasn't 3 hours I would have enjoyed it a lot more. Study and pay attention & you'll do fine

Ernst is a very likable person.If you need something to be explained better just ask and he'll explain more. Pop quizzes, sometimes on terms that are not gone over but only 10 best quizzes count so it's not too bad.Study for tests and you'll too well. You should go to class to know what's going on. Study RV is given and session where he helps w/ it

The class is boring, but he tries to make it fun. He does give a lot of assignments, but only the top 10 are graded, so if you screw up it's no big deal. He talks about the Dutch a lot, since that's where he is from, which isnt really all that relevent in US history, but he does have some interesting facts.
