He's the best. I care very much about quality, and it doesn't get any better. I'm 40 now and wish I had Clauss and Pubantz lectures for current issues. I'm Googling now to see if they have a web presence; that's how I found this!

He's really funny, and a really nice guy, however, he needed to retire years ago. His grading is impossible. You'll be failing the first half of the semester, change nothing, and then mysteriously pass the class. Also, if you're an easily offended Republican or Libertarian, this class isn't for you. He's ruthless.

Terrified me until I realized how much he cares about his subject matter and his students. Many students never get past the gruff exterior and the sarcasm and dry wit to the truly brilliant and caring professor underneath. In addition to history, he taught me to believe in my ability to think and to have confidence in my opinions.

I was excited abouth the class but it turned out to be awful--he played some movies, assigned some writing, and that was it. No discussion at all, and he wrote snide (and often politcal) comments on REFLECTION papers that he didn't agree with. Skipped class if it snowed and didn't bother telling us.

an ok class, you just really have to take good notes and pay attention to do well. he does drop your lowest quiz grade, so that helps. he makes really funny comments to keep you guessing, but he's a good guy.
