I thought this class would be interesting but it was super hard. Class was boring. Attendance was mandatory because of points. Exams were hard. My friends took the online class and got an A while I got a C-. Do not take him. Take the online class.

Worst economics professor iv ever had. The hardest part of the class is staying awake during his lectures and he does random attendance checks. I earned an 89.8 in the class and never missed an attendance check and he still gave me a B+...this guy really needs to get over himself.

Drummond IS a grumpy old man and sitting through class is a huge challenge of will, but there is no reason not to get an A in his class, even with little background. Just go to class and read his PPT before exams and you will be fine. Attendance is 5 random days, 2 grade pts each. Tests directly from PPT posted online. He is a total downer, though.

DO NOT TAKE DRUMMOND! IF YOU SEE HIS NAME ON YOUR SCHEDULE RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!! Drummond is extremely boring, has very dry humor, his test do not relate to in-class lectures or book material, he listens to horrible music and he is a total d-bag to any student who asks any question, relevant or not. I will never take this guy again!!!

Grumpy old man but if you just go to class and keep your head down it's not horrible. Tests are hard, but not impossible. Homeworks are a pain but make sure you keep up on them because they're fairly easy A's. Takes random attendance which is 20% of your grade so go to class.

Not a good teacher. Takes himself way too seriously, thinks hes very smart. Also takes pleasure in screwing over students... for example, he took one of our 11 attendance grades on a rainy day directly after an exam when much of the class was absent. He grades his tests very strictly. Would not recommend.

I took Drummond's fall 2008 Ag Policy class. The guy definitely knows his stuff; tends to go off on tangents a lot, and the tests aren't easy (but not particularly hard, either). Overall an interesting class.

Comment:

For ALS2931--Half the Horseman, Dr. Drummond is a good teacher. He definitely goes off on many tangents (especially about China) and his tests require somewhat lengthy answers, but it's a relatively fair class. If you need to take an honors class, I would suggest this one.

I LOVED this class. I had absolutely no interest in economics prior to this course, but he actually made it interesting and kept my attention during lectures. Attendance is mandatory, but I loved his lectures anyways so it didn't matter. Very easy to get an A if you just STUDY notes, HW's, and the old tests. Huge curves, and one test is dropped.

If you don't HAVE to take it, DON'T! He's very rude, doesn't care about the students at all unless you're a personal friend of his. He just confuses you & yells at students for asking questions. You can have late credit on hwif turned b4 a key is posted, but he posts the key 10 min after it's due! Constant mixing up of grades. etc. BAD BAD BAD BAD!

Dr. D is a nice guy, but: 1. He talks more about himself than the material. 2. You have to take notes on his MANY tangents to do well on tests. 3. He doesn't ask for analysis - he just wants regurgitation. 4. You can learn more if you just read Guns, Germs, and Steel on your own and then do a few hours researching big name diseases on Wikipedia.

This is an awesome class for anyone that loves Econonmics. Drummond is Super Knowledgeable. He can be a lil dry some times but his lectures on beer marketing and world hunger are amazing

Dr. Drummond is a really nice guy. Fred's Food Factory is a pretty easy class as long as you actually give somewhat of an effort.
