Comment:

Professor Hart teaches an interesting class that, with some tweaking, would be rather enjoyable. The material is interesting and the professor has a good, if sometimes dry, sense of humor. The main issue is the lack of tests, there's only a midterm and a final, the vague study guides, and the heavy (at times) homework load during the 1st unit.

Comment:

Such an easy and awesome class. You have three tests, some quizzes, and attendance. Tests arent bad, plus you get a study guide. This class was entertaining for the most part, and lectures usually flew by cause of how neat they were. Dr. Hart is a nice and easy going professor. Just show up, and you'll pass.

If you go to class every day, you'll have no problem making an easy A with little studying. The material was interesting, Dr. Hart is a fairly good lecturer, and the quizzes and exams aren't too difficult. He does post the powerpoints online, but they aren't much help if you didn't attend class.

As an INTERNATIONAL STUDENT, Mr. Hart is very very kind teacher. His grading depend on how you did on only 3 test. I really found a difficulty with understanding him and the English. He upload his Power Points slides on iLearn, Also he will show 3 to 4 videos comes on the test. Also he put DEFINITION too many and its include EXTRA POINTS. TAKE HIM

This class is very interesting. Hart is a really nice and helpful guy. Don't listen to the people that here that give him bad ratings they are probably stupid freshmen who are used to high school classes. I highly recommend this professor! His classes are not hard either.

Dr. Hart is a great professor. His class is very interesting. He gives 3 exams and 4 quizzes that equal an exam grade. You have to study for them, but if you study you should do fine. Take notes every day!! If you show up and listen and take notes you will be fine. He is very nice and understanding.

Dr. Hart, I thought to be, a wonderful teacher. I am a Geology major so I've had/will take multiple classes with him. I have chosen my classes primarily becuase he is not just a good teacher but a good person as well. Anyone who has anything negative to say about him...maybe you should take a little time to get to know your professor a bit better.

This class was extremely hard. He only gives 2 tests and a final, and a few quizzes. The quizzes are impossible to understand. You could have your notes right in front of you, and still not pass the quizzes. The exams are ridiculous. It felt like no matter how much I studied it didn't help prepare me. I would NOT recommend taking him at all.

I was very interested in the subject in the beginning, and it quickly faded. His quizzes and exams are hard, and the quizzes are open book. The exams require information that I would deem not as important(dates, etc), instead of the hazards themselves. To get an A, you should have and some Geology first.I am an A student, and got a C in the class.

This class is probably the most deceiving class at Tech. His test are ridiculous and to make it worse the quizzes are hard to understand. He is a nice guy, but do not take the class. His final has a part that is maps and you can not tell what is going on. I am an A and the occasional B student, but I made a D in his class. Don't take this class.

Totally agree with the person below about the "Ice" question; I had the exact same question. Don't let the positive comments fool you. Hart is a nice guy but his tests are strenuous and very hard to study for. Absolutely expected an A going into the class, but ended up with a D. These positive ratings just aren't accurate.

He is boring. You get two tests and a final, and the final was rediculous. He gave us a map that was not clearly labled and one of the questions was: ice. There is ice in most of the world so that is a dumb question.

This professor is a good one to take! You only have 2 tests and a final. No quizzes. The bad thing is is if you do bad on one test, it is hard to bring your grade up. He does offer a little extra credit, but not much. I recommend this professor!

2 tests, and a Final. The lab is easy. He's easy to understand, but he never made eye contact with me (it bothered me). Lectures are all powerpoint. Tests are about all kinds of crap NOT in his lectures. You better listen to what he says or you're screwed. Oh, and be ready to kill a few sequoias printing off his lectures. Good luck with his class.

This is a very easy class. If you are the type that doesn't lay out of class a lot, then you will be fine. Dr. Hart takes role everyday, and it is vital that you are there to take the notes from the powerpoint. No quizzes. 2 Tests and 1 final. Not a had class, I would refer him to anyone that wants an easy A
