Comment:
Dr. Tastsoglou is immensely invested in the well-being of her students. She sets clear guidelines on how to succeed in her classes and demands that effort be demonstrated from her students. If you follow along readings and attend class as required she is an understanding ally, and most issues will stem from student hesitance to communicate needs.

Been very frustrated with this professor all semester. I have her for a required Criminology course online, and she is barely ever accessible to talk to. Doesn't answer emails, and when she does she's not helpful. Have to wait for grades for a couple of weeks at minimum. Makes us do weekly group work for an online course. Do not recommend her.

If you're taking Eve for Theory, may god have mercy on your soul! For adv. theory students had to have 110 pages (give or take a few) of DENSE material read each week. Be prepared to read Marx, Lenin, Horkheimer, Adorno, Foucault, Bourdieu, and many (many) more. Oh, and be prepared to summarize those 110 pages in 3-4 pages, double spaced each week.

While her lectures are long, and there is a lot of reading, Dr. Tastsoglou is an incredibly intelligent and kind professor. For those who take the time to get to know her, her feedback is invaluable. She is very supportive and willing to go the extra mile for her students, but it is a give-take relationship - not for lazy, unmotivated students.

This professor is a wonderful lecturer and although she does have an accent I enjoy her lecture style very much. I am a fourth year student and my advise to anyone who is taking this course if you don't want to work hard and attend class then don't sign up for her class

This prof was a very nice person, but extreamly difficult to understand. This course was a lot of work and the lectures were never ending. The prof was approachable when one needed help, but the help given was not always helpful. Good luck to those who needs this course to complete their SOC major!
