Wish I had read this site before taking his class. The tutors have said he is a genius. He is very hard to follow as he rambles on and on. Very rarely does problems on the board and then sometimes finishes them. If you like to teach yourself Calculus II this is the class for you!

Taking a class with Beyl? Well you've purchased a ticket to Ramblesville, and Beyl is the mayor. He rarely lectures, & when he does he only makes things more confusing. His exams are unreal; full of esoteric math identities that you long since forgot but he'll expect you to know. He's absolutely terrible. Do NOT take class with him.

I had no interest in math before attending this class. He gave extremely clear examples. He has a slight German accent so you may have to ask clarifying questions.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Expect to learn entirely from the book. He is extremely scatterbrained, goes on irrelevant tangents, and often stands directly in front of what he is writing. CONSISTENTLY at least five minutes late to class every day. If you aren't already good at calculus, expect to take it again in the summer (like me.)

Has a thick German accent which made it hard for me to understand him. I felt like most work had to be done on my own and nothing was really taught to me in class. I'm sure some people wouldn't have a problem with his teaching style, but I wouldn't take it him again unless I had absolutely had to.

Prof. Beyl is not for the squeamish or those weak-willed students; that being said, he possesses a tremendous mathematical acumen and if you are willing to commit the time and energy required for his course (which is admittedly a very substantial demand), you will finally reap -- I think -- a great intellectual reward.

Good mathematician, awful teacher. Takes him forever to get through problems because he rambles and brings up irrelevant things, has terrible flow in lectures is very late in grading HW and provides practically no feedback. His tests consist of very few questions, usually covering things we never got to because of going off-topic. Avoid.

Very difficult to understand, little to no feedback, rambles and does unuseful complicated proofs of simple concepts, hard to follow on the board. The worst teacher I've ever had, bar none.

In case you haven't gotten the idea yet, do not take a class from Rudy Beyl. My complaints about him and his "teaching" are too numerous to discuss here. In summary; he rambles, is unhelpful, has terrible boardwork, is difficult to understand, and is completely out of touch with his students. Again, avoid Rudy Beyl.

This teacher simply does not teach. You don't get any feedback at all in this class, which makes it difficult to learn from mistakes. The lectures are rambling, random, and incoherant. Avoid taking this prof. if possible.

It took about three weeks before we had a syllabus, and another couple weeks before hw was assigned. But he piled on HW the last couple weeks, didn't collect them til the end. The final had 3 questions, some of which referenced material we hadn't covered. Grades (a week late) were very low, incl some C's for grad students. Avoid if possible.

This guy is worthless. He may be a brilliant finite mathematician, but as teachers go he is the worst!!. I have a 3.25 GPA, I have never taken a test where all the answers were right, yet still only scored a low C !?!?! Avoid at all costs!!!
