Herr Florian is amazing! I still remember how I just came from GERM 100 in January and knew very little about the language. It's surprising how much I learned in the past 3 months. Florian challenges you, encourages you to speak, and puts you JUST outside of your comfort zone. Challenging but never traumatizing! Highly recommended!

Herr Faller is amazing! The first day seems really challenging but you soon learn that even though he sets the bar high, he is incredibly understanding and forgiving. He creates an environment that challenges you, putting you just outside of your comfort zone, but not enough to be traumatizing. My German got so much better with him! So worth it!

Great prof; caring, friendly, clear lectures. Really simplified concepts which were already pretty straightforward. Says exactly what is on the 3 tests. The course took work, easy to fall behind on the online homework. U'll get an A if u work/keep up at it. Highly recommend him and the course, would love to/hope I can take another class with him.

Best prof I've ever had. Classes are never boring. He always makes jokes at the right timing-right when you are about to lose attention. Very helpful, makes it clear what you should know for the exams and overall a very nice guy. Would definitely take German with him again. Strongly recommended!

Florian Faller is a great professor! He always ensures that students understand the material well, and does everything he can to promote student success in the courses he teaches. He is friendly and approachable, and also occasionally adds humour into his lectures. Take German with Florian if you want to enjoy yourself and learn lots about German!!

Took 100 as an elective and had a load of fun, lot's of work if you want to excel in the course but its essential to learning a new language. The amount of work required to learning a new language puts me off, but if it wasn't for Dr. Faller I wouldn't have continue taking Germ. Rare to have a professor who genuinely cares.

If you're excited about German you will love Florian Faller! He is from Germany (big plus when it comes to language courses) and not only does he understand good teaching but he genuinely cares about your learning. He's really friendly and super easy to talk to. I think the German dept. at UBC is really good and Herr Faller definitely proves this.

Florian is an awesome instructor. He's very nice and patient and he is willing to take the time to explain things to you outside class in person to times as late as 10PM. If you get the opportunity to attend one of his classes, TAKE IT!
