If he was any less entertaining Id resent his long tangents but theyre usually interesting and actually do end up providing insight into work experience. Has a sense of humor for assignments and gave interesting ones. I had him for IAC and the other kids were jealous of our projects even though we technically had more. Very chill and lenient

He was a great teacher for VisCom first semester, but it was second semester that was the problem for me. He is a great teacher, but goes off topic and his crits are often not helpful. He gave WAY too many assignments second semester (about 8 or 9 projects to be exact) and we would therefore simultaneously work on more than one project at a time.

Has lots of interesting stories but goes on EXTREMELY long tangents. Most classes are spent listening to him telling stories that go on for so long--critiques tend to go into overtime. Participation doesn't really matter. Lots of assignments. Heavily illustration based. Enjoys and appreciates daring concepts.

Awesome methods and media professor. Did a demo every other week and brought in lots of inspiration and examples. Brief critiques- fun and interesting projects. Very knowledgable- tells great stories. Class is very relaxed and fun.

Take Floyd for VisCom if you are really into comics or illustration. He will help you and give you good advice. However if you are a graphic design student you will become frustrated fairly quickly as you learn Floyd's design sense is not up to par with the professional standard. Nice guy, but his grades seem to be groundless and unexplained.

Pratt COMD doesn't care about comics. So Pratt needs more teachers like Floyd. You get out of his class what you put in. Goes on long tangents but they're usually relevant. His class made me feel hope and joy again. Doesn't really give A's, which I am fine with. A teacher who is idealistic and realistic at the same time. I will love him forever.

nice guy! but grading is little bit hard! but overall very good class and he is really helpful! And Be careful for attendance and lateness because he seems he does not mark attendance but he remembers every single late and attendance! And you really need to work hard on class because he really is always watching you, even though he seems not!!

just to echo what a few other kids said, floyd is the best prof. in comD. he's done more than any other professor I've had to make me feel like I can do this for a living , I feel like I owe him a lot for that. plus, he introduced me to kevin eastman at comic con! how great is that? he's awesome. take him.

Floyd is an incredible professor and person, and teaches a class in the field in which he knows the best. He could definitely be more harsher during critiques, but if your into hardcore/heavymusic/gore/comicbooks, this man is like a talented teenager stuck in the body of a middle aged man, you can talk to him about anything! RECOMMENDED!

Floyd was the best. I really enjoyed his class. The reason I gave him a medium for difficulty is that, as always, a student's desire to become proficient in a particular course has a good amount to do with how difficult you perceive it to be. It can be as hard or as easy as you make it.

Like Jesus, Floyd teaches his wisdom through the medium of parables and anecdotes. Unlike Jesus, Floyd loves death metal, superhero comics and horror movies, and will expound on them for hours. A truly entertaining and lovable professor, forgive him his tangential stories and he'll forgive you for being a slacker (doesn't give A's easily, though)
