For a beginner, her class material is not that hard but It is really hard to understand at first. After a period of studying, it gradually makes sense but the class already left you far away back... I Know that is kind of academic requirement but I still did not like her teaching style. Know your material clearly, or it is hard for you to pass.

Took this class in the special summer session. It's very hard if you haven't taken french in a while or are just learning the 5D material. Most people had taken tons of french. Small tests and quizzes and a oral final. Françoise loves her students and is very nice.

Madam is awesome. she is very friendly,open and really cares about her students. She is available for office hours and really understands how her students learn. She makes this class exciting and fun always doing new things. I would defently recomend taking her:)

Not intimidating at all, to me! Loved, loved, loved this class (definitely take the summer course, no exams, small class - I haven't taken French in 3 yrs and got an A) She's so friendly and helpful! Sweet, funny woman, offers a lot of insight about the culture itself, and you learn without realizing it - she even tells jokes/stories in French

She is a bit intimidating, being head of the department, but you get over that after a while. I do believe that she is the best instructor for this course. However, this course focuses on French culture, so if you are more focused on learning the language, take LTFR 2A after LIFR 1C/CX. Bonne chance!

Very nice and friendly, she's the department head and that might be a little intimidating. makes you talk, but doesn't force you. extremely helpful if you don't understand or don't know the words. uses gestures to help you understand.
