Prof. Gendreau is a nice guy. He is passionate about teaching and is very interested in what he teaches. If you don't like the subject class can be a bit boring. His tests can be difficult but if you pay attention in class he will tell you exactly what he wants and if he gives you a study guide USE IT and you will do fine...!!!

Prof Gendreau is alright. He's a nice guy but class can is extremely boring, especially if you don't like the subject. Gives handouts almost every class and then proceeds to reads them for the whole class. Dont try to offer your opinion or go against what he says.Memorize handouts for quizzes and tests and you will be fine.

Professor Gendreau is a nice guy but he's a horrible teacher. He passes out handouts and then just reads them to you and that's the whole class. I skipped almost every class but he flips out. Not too many grades only like 2 papers and a midterm and final--they're not too hard if you memorize everything word for word. Do NOT take this class.

He is a great guy and I loved going to class, even though it was at 8:30am Mon, Wed, and Fri. His tests and quiz are impossible though! Extremely challenging. Studied over 40hrs for the midterm and got a 70! Looks at your papers before you hand them in and willing to make comments and gives time to students.

Utterly useless as a professor. He does not challenge you to think. He reads aloud to you like an audiobook. The most unsatifying "A" you'll ever get. With so much moral and ethical uncertainty in the world, I'd rather have left the course with some tools for engaging the world around me, rather than regurtitating lackluster prose.

He canceled upwards of 7 classes without notice. He refused to meet with us on several occasions. Had to know material verbatim. Did not care about his students at all, and just preached from his notes that did not clarify a thing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

HORRENDOUS. We sit in class as he reads his own personal commentaries on philosophy to us. All he wants is us to spit back EXACTLY what he has in his notes. Not a mean guy, but a terrible educator.

He is a really nice guy and a good teacher. He lectures directly from his handouts so it is easy to follow along. His quizzes are easy if you study for them- he gives you the questions a week ahead of time. He reads rough drafts of papers. Gives students every opportunity to do well.

Prof. Gendreau is a great guy and a great prof. I don't know why so few seem to like him, because yes, class can drag at times, but if you have any interest at all in the subject, it's not nearly as bad as everyone says. His tests are easy if you study... he tells you exactly what'll be on them a week ahead of time. Take him and see for yourself!

Very hard class. Every class is either reading directly off a paper or off of the board. Always makes himself avaliable outside of class but not very helpful. When you ask him to explain something he just reads it again right from the paper word for word. Gives study guides for quizzes and test, but expects you to know the answers verbatim.

Very unclear about his grading & what he expects on tests/quizes. Hard material - explains it well but expectations for our ability to grasp it & explain it in own words is extremely high. Be sure to attend every class. No need to do reading>he lectures on it all class>doesn't ask q. Avaiable a lot for help but is not good at helping you understand

This guy is crazy, no wonder why he teaches such a boring and crazy subject. He has a bad attitude and doesn't let the class say anything, he just talks the whole length of the class. Very boring and is a terrible grader, good luck getting an A in that class. Don't take this class

Uhhhhhhhhh ... Thats how I feel after a 50 minute class with this guy. Terrible at trying to explain things and his Final is horrible. Gives a review sheet with 20 questions, all of which can be answered in a page each meaning you will never have anough brain space to remember all of the information. All in all the guy should have retired years ago

I like him a lot. His classes are incredably clear and organized. If you ever need help, he will meet with you one on one for as long as you need, and answer every question thoroughly. As far as work and grading, there is not much work, a little reading here and there, but when its test time, study a lot - is like the only work work he gives
