This course is nicely structured with 4 projects and 2 small tests in the semester. Frank is very helpful and wants to see you succeed. He is very understanding in alot of situations and is always willing to give you good advice on how to improve your work.

Frank is by far one of the best graphic design teachers at Chico State. Honestly, he cares very much about the success of his students and takes a one on one approach to teaching which is monumentally helpful and quite refreshing compared to lectures of 500. I have been taking classes from Frank for two semesters and he has been such a GOOD teacher

He is a very nice person, and very helpful during lab. His powerpoint lectures are kind of boring though. Lab section is taught completely by an ebook if that's your thing. Tests aren't bad and he took away final projects because of furloughs. Some might think that this class isn't worth what you pay for. I kind of agree. Easy class & nice prof.

Frank is a very friendly professor with sweet intentions. However, he can be extremely frustrating. Every furlough was on a class day. Our two hour lab was canceled more often than not and when we did meet he usually dismissed us after a half hour, and there was no lecture from Thanksgiving until the final. I did not pay $3,000 for this.

I had professor Armstrong in Fall 2009, and he was very nice, helpful, and presented his material in an understandable manner. One's grade in the class came from the midterm, final, as well as attendance. As these were the only ways to gets points, tests are VERY important. However, Frank was willing to help with some questions on these exams.

Frank is very nice and very fair, but I was not a fan of adobe illustrator at all. In fact I pretty much hated it. I can't say I recommend the class, but Frank is a great guy, just not the best teacher.

The best teacher I have ever had. Very easy going, caring, and teaches well. Allows you to work at your own pace so that you can learn as much as possible. If you have the oppertunity to take his class, DONT MISS IT!!

Okay, here's the deal: I really wish he would provide more info at the beginning so I wouldn't have to ask as many questions, which he is always happy to do. Otherwise, he is super nice, very helpful, etc. But man, just give me a little more to work with! (And he can be a little passive aggressive sometimes.) Still, he is a very good teacher.
