Comment:
His class consists of 3 essays, attendance, and exams. He passes around an attendance sheet at the start of class and it's worth 10% of your grade. Also, lectures are very dry and hard to sit through. His power points contain lots of visual images rather than content, making it hard to study for exams. He takes points off for the smallest details.

His class is made up of 3 essays, attendance, and 2 exams. Attendance is 10% of the grade and if you miss 3 or more classes you automatically get a C. He is an extremely hard grader on his essays, and he is unclear on what he takes off points for. His exams are very difficult and if you miss one small detail on a definition, he will take points off

Professor Biletz is such a nice guy but he is the most boring professor I have ever taken. The class includes three papers a mid term and final which doesn't sound terrible but the books you have to read are awful. Luckily he isn't a tough grader but he's so bad a lecturing that it doesn't matter. Also attendance is mandatory so there's no escape!

This professor is not worth your time. My biggest pet peeve was the way his essays were graded. I got Bs on all 3 essays because of grammar issues that weren't even there. My content was correct and historically factual but he did't like the way I wrote. I have an A in all english classes so clearly I'm a decent writer.

Prof Biletz is a strict grader on essays and exams and will also tend to go off subject during the lectures making it difficult to prepare for the exams.

Prof Biletz is very knowledgeable but is a very tough grader when it comes to papers. He is very specific on what he wants in the papers & if you don't write exactly what he wants, he takes off points. There are 3 papers, 1 midterm, & 1 final. On both midterm & final he gives you exactly what you need to know so you just have to memorize.

He's a weird grader. I would write, for i.e., "there is historical use in..." and he would mark it up asking "the use of history?" Obviously! Besides from being a tough grader, his class is okay. 3 papers, one midterm, one final make up the grade which isn't bad at all. You can sparknotes the books, but I don't recommend that it's better to read

Professor Biletz would be a great person to sit down with and debate/discuss history with. As a professor though, most of the class was endless lectures repeating the textbook with required attendance, and trying not to fall asleep. I love history but was disappointed with the lack of discussion and VERY hard grading. It was HARD to get a B.

This class wasn't bad! His lectures can be a bit boring but he is an overall nice guy and a good teacher. He does stutter, but that does not get in the way of understanding what he is saying. Class consists of three books that you have to write papers on, a midterm, and a final. Not too shabby!!

He tries to be engaging, but unless you are very interested in history, the class seems to drag on forever. You only get graded on five things. The tests are just terms, so if you memorize those, you'll be fine. He does take attendance every day, so if you don't show up more than three times, your grade will drop.

3 essays throughout the semester on 3 different books. Sucks but you can use them to boost your grade as he is not a hard grader. All he tests you on is the terms so if you study hard and memorize them all before a midterm/final, you'll be fine. Easy class

Professor Biletz was the toughest teacher I've had all semester as a NURSING MAJOR. He is not the most understanding guy. He is absolutely ruthless when it comes to exams -- making us learn terms just to test us on handful, not to mention the 4 essays he gives in the study guide but only puts 2 on the actual exam. Would've taken someone else.

Absolutely the worst professor I have had. He rambles on about unimportant details and his powerpoints barely guide his lecturing which makes it impossible to take notes because he's constantly talking. This course also requires you to learn so many details about such a large period of time, it's hard to keep everything straight.

On the first day of class, one couldn't help but feel bad for Frank because of his stutter, however don't be fooled. He doesn't hesitate with his sass or his unrelenting red pen. Not sure why he teaches world history since he specializes in Ireland and loves art history. BEWARE: he does not give As to freshmen because he thinks nobody is perfect.

Biletz was such a quirky professor. Sometimes I felt sad for him, other times it made me laugh haha. His lectures did get a little long and boring and he will keep going after his class ends, which is awkward. He is a very fair grader, which was my saving grace because history was so boring for me.

I absolutely LOVE him. He was so quirky! Theres no homework, just 3 essays and 2 tests throughout the semester, but you can literally just read the spark notes and get at least a B. I would HIGHLY recommend! The lectures are a little long, but its college; the lectures are always long.

He's a really nice guy and he doesn't grade harshly at all. There's a lot of reading assigned in the class but he NEVER checks if you've actually read. As for his midterms and finals, he gives you a certain number of historical eventspeople to know, and only about half will be on the test. He expects you to know them all though.

Attendance is mandatory and gives very long very tedious and boring lectures. Grade consists of 3 papers a midterm and a final. You can get by on the papers with spark notes and still get a B. You can not pay attention in class all semester and still get a B.

Grades consist of 3 papers, midterm & final. The papers aren't too bad but he is strict when it comes to grading. You can expect between a C+ and A- on papers. The format of the midterm and final is tedious but doable. Lectures can get long & boring but the key terms he writes out are necessary for the exams. If you ask for help, he'll help :)

He writes "key terms" on the board at the beginning of class to guide notes, but you still need to pay attention in class. You can use sparknotes for the three essays in the class rather than reading the actual books and easily get good grades on the essays. He does stutter but it's not annoying, you'll get used to it fast. Overall the class was ok
