Probably one of the most intelligent people I've met! Pay attention in his class, and you will not end up being the subject of his jokes. The material is difficult but he makes it extremely clear--I recommend a recorder though becuase there is so much info covered in a single lecture. Study his lectures! (hard) I made an A and never opened the book

Dr. Binder is one of the most intelligent professors at Marshall. His class is hard, but he gives you all of the material to study with. He scales all of his tests, and makes the final easy. Do not listen to the rumor about how he hates nursing students either. He expects you to have common sense, and tells funny jokes. If you want to learn, takehim

Dr. Binder was HORRIBLE! DO NOT let him know you are a nursing student. The first day of class, he walked in and stated that he hated nurses, and was a worthless profession, and 80% would fail his class. His lectures were so fast! He lectured on memory and sometimes the exams didnot cover anything he lectured on in class.

Dr. Binder is a great professor. His class is very interesting, but the tests are extremely difficult. I recorded every single lecture and typed every one of my notes. I would also recommend doing this for the lab lectures. The lab exams really give you an opportunity to bring up your grade. I learned alot in this class and would recommend it

Wow. Great Professor. Definitely the most difficult class I've had but well worth the time and effort. Labs are so interesting and lectures as well. Dr. Binder is a very intelligent man and although a bit intimidating at first, he still cares about students learning. You MUST study, exams are difficult! Also, I recommend getting a tape recorder.

Dr. Binder is a great teacher! His class is by no means easy, but he is passionate about teaching microbiology. He seems very uncaring at first, but he does care about how you are doing in the class. If you are looking for an easy A, take another teacher; if you want to learn, take Dr. Binder.

Best professor I've had. Great speaker. Attendance is a must...all test questions come from lectures. Covers an incredible amount of information. In over 90 hours, this is my first C. If you want to really learn and not just worried about your GPA, there is not a better professor.

Dr. Binder's microbiology course has been one of the most informative classes I have taken at Marshall. Are the tests difficult? Yes, but if you come to class record the lectures and study you will be all right. If you actually want to learn something this is a great course!

Very good teacher, yet class is very hard. You work for every thing you get. There is a ton of information that is jammed into this class, and you have to know all of it. Recording the lectures is a good idea. He does tell you what will be on the exams, But you have to come to class.

Dr. Binder's class is incredibly tough, but if you record the lectures and actually come to class you will do just fine. He's one of the last professors that actually knows his stuff and expects you to know it too. Those that do poorly, it is their fault. Not his. You MUST come to class. He is a fanatstic educator. One of the best I've ever had.

I couldn't help liking him. He's difficult only because there is a lot of information to take in. He explains everything that will be on the exam. You have to come to class to learn anything because all the exam questions come from your notes. He showes a lot of videos. If you're interested in learning the matterial, he's interested in helping you.

I took Dr. Binder for Microbiology. His class is very hard and it has alot of information, however he is not as bad as he would like for you to believe. You have to study pretty much every day in order to stay ahead. Overall he is a great teacher and if you care about doing well he will care about you doing well also.

Frank comes of as very rude and not caring. Once you get to know him he is a good guy. Just study everything he says and record the lectures. Everything he says is on the test and the final is very hard. There is a curve and scale in the class so if you are doing bad sont sweat it. STUDY STUDY STUDY and you might just get the C you've been wanting

This class is no walk in the park. His lectures are very fast so I would highly recommend a tape recorder. His tests are extremely difficult but not impossible as long as you don't wait until the night before to study. He is sarcastic and a smart ass, but funny. Word of advice: don't let him know if you're a nursing student!
