Comment:

So philosophical. Great class that really challenges you to think globally and deeply. You will probably leave this class feeling like an awful human, but you will want to do something about it. This class forces you to think and isn't easy. But it's worth it. Good professor.

If It wasn't for Pulsford being so encouraging and checking on me when I needed it; I might not be planning on my next semester, but rather when I was going back to work. I loved my class with him, and I look forward to having him again. He's very understanding and as long as you try to do the class work, he will respect and work with you.

I enjoyed his class. He handles class discussion in a way that eliminates awkwardness. He has interesting, but still sometimes boring reading assignments. That may or may not have pop quizzes. So, Just read. However, the movies we had to write on were always good :). He gives very good and constructive feedback and you'll enjoy his British accent.

Asks you to write a lot, but the prompts are very open-ended and unless your grammar is awful, it is easy to get a good grade. Media includes television shows, movies, music, books, And graphic novels. Pulsford is prone to going off on a tangent in lectures.

Good class, very insightful. Doesn't give you any subject do essays. Says "loosely based on love" and that's all you get as a prompt or a topic. Very smooth reads. WILL READ JANE EYRE AND PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. Tough essay grader. Really spacey as a person.

Pulsford is an awesome professor, extremely helpful, very knowledgeable and informed but also respectful. The classes I've taken with him have consistently included interesting and engaging topics regardless of their classification. He can see through bs, but as long as you put an effort into having smart ideas, he'll credit you for them.

If you're nervous about starting school take his GSTR class, he's very affirming while maintaining a solid level of information and idea/discussion time. There isn't a lot of work in the class so it's in your best interest to do it, and depending on your classmates, it could be the most stimulating class you'll have freshman year!

Steve is the most fluid professor I have ever had. He is completely willing to explore and question the most academic and the more common of theories. He will push your ability to understand more and more complex concepts, so be ready and be ready to push him too.

Took Pulsford for US Trad, WT1 &WT2. Different perspective (he's british) and some fun texts. Expects performance but these GSTRs allow you to focus on your major curriculum and the readings were helpful and very interesting. I recommend him highly to anyone with an intensive major.
