Frank Bryan is a Vermont treasure. The best part about UVM. If you don't take his class they should revoke your degree.

The only professor I had at 3 top colleges that I liked, despite his views (which are actually perfect since he teaches real VT history). He is the smartest man in academia and the best thing UVM will ever have. Loves town meeting and dislikes flatlanders from New York and Massachusetts, but helps everyone. True diversity at UVM.

Frank Bryan keeps the class funny and gives examples you will remember. The exams are difficult and pull a lot of very specific book details. Overall he's a great teacher.

Absolutely love Frank Bryan. He is one of those teachers that just knows their stuff. I did not have much interest in politics before I took his class and because of him I changed my major to polysci. One of the most brilliant and hilarious teachers I have ever had. I learned more in his class than I have in almost any other class I've taken.

Prof. Bryan might be the most important resource the University of Vermont has. He is truly passionate about his subject and leaves behind the formalities of education. Many out-of-state students resent him for this, however aside from the tests and the grades, Bryan's spirited lectures stay with you beyond the classroom. Keeping the VT in UVM.

I took him for POLS 123-Bryan is the kind of professor I'd like to get a beer with and listen to his passionate opinions about Town Meeting or his crazy stories. He's cool, but I wouldn't recommend him to anyone as a teacher. His tests seem to come out of no where and if you choose to take him, all I have to say is good luck.

This man is either brilliant or completely insane. he is definitley knowledgable, but he expects you to remember small details he mentions in passing between his random stories. I would definitley reccomend listening in on a lecture since he is so unique, but trying to sift through what is important and being tested is a baffling ordeal.

His tests are really hard but they're curved. The final grade is as well. My final average was a 84 and it was curved to an A! If you don't do the reading or take notes you won't do well plain and simple. If you go to his office for help it helps a lot.

HORRIBLE. Yeah sure, he'll maybe make you chuckle at one point or another with the ridiculous things he says, but trust me, it's not worth it. Your grade is based off three tests and four quizzes whose wording is meant to mess you up. I didn't learn a thing. This class is a waste of time. Seriously, don't make this mistake. Awful, awful, awful...

Take one of his classes before they force him to retire or he dies. If you're one of those people who stresses about tests and grades-you will ruin the vibe of his class so don't bother. Is a lot of what he says BS? yeah, but he does it on purpose to make you think and challenge your own paradigms. Just go to class and enjoy the Bryan show.

Going to the lectures, I thought that this class was pretty fun and interesting. But, come time to take the first test, I realized how much he DIDN'T teach very clearly. The tests consist of one word answers, and those answers are random words that you can't even remember learning in class or in the book. Avoid this professor.

professor bryan spends the entire class telling highschool stories to glorify himself.only teacher I have ever had who brags about his tenure(dear god he needs it), "so he can sit on his ass all the time, thats why i chose to be a teacher"i wouldn't mind but that is the only thing keeping him at uvm teaching his WORTHLESS class;icantbelieveimpayin

Prof. Bryan is one of the few professors who doesn't rely on powerpoints and has the knowledge to just lecture. thus the students can't be passive and zone out but are forced to pay attention. Tests are fair but the first one is surprising, you work hard and you'll get a good grade. He's one of the greatest resources at UVM

I would not recommend this teacher to anyone in the university. His tests are 50 questions that are often poorly worded and just focus on his personal opinion or random stories from his life. Such as the one about shooting his own dog with a revolver. He expects people to learn the material by themselves and offers no realistic help.

Byran is awesome. I'm bummed he's on sabatical. Read the book and know what's said in class and you're fine. If you're interested in rants and wonderful analogies, he's the guy. He actually made it interesting to sit through over an hour course about government. The best line was about Monica Lewisnky and Clinton... hysterical

While FB maybe funny, I found him to be vague, confusing and seldomly stayed on track. There was also a total lack of direction regarding all/any written assignments and feedback/helpfulness was completely missing.

Frank is by far the best teacher I have had at UVM. He makes learning the material fun and the metaphors and stories he tells really help you remember the material. If you go to class and check out the reading, you will do well in this class for sure. I will definately take classes with him in the future-FYI..he is on sabbatical 1/2007-12/2007.
