Best teacher I've ever had, without question. Somehow he was able to get me interested in grammar and trying to write a decent essay, not a small feat. Not that it stuck. Still, he is a great guy.

...Frank was the Best Prof I HAVE EVER HAD... I learned more from him than any other teacher and I have 2 degrees... I can't say enough about his insights, clarity and helpfulness...He was dedicated to his class and new his subject cold... You rock Frank...!!!

Frank Burke is an enthusiastic professor who cares greatly about his students if they are willing to care about their own schoolwork. He is interested in his own subject and is an all around nice man. He is one of my favourite professor if not the very favourite.

What a chaotic course. First it is important to know that Prof. Burke had a number of family problems this year that affected the course (which is fine). Skipping weeks of class, not knowing what your marks are, and having many handouts is what the course is made of. This is essentially an English course - he marks essays REALLY tough.

The good thing about Burke is that he is genuinely interested in his course and wants you to be too. The bad thing is that he spends all of his office time staring you down. At least the film list was great (Batman, Indiana Jones, Robocop, etc.)

When I had him in 110 he almost made me want to not major in film because he seemed so negative. Fortunately I liked the other profs in that course so I changed my mind. In 222 I found that he really knows his stuff but I didn't find him very interesting.
