DO NOT BUY THE TEXT BOOK. Passing the exam is super hard but just study off the notes. He reviews the entire final beforehand and you just have to know facts more than dates. He is boring and will lecture the whole class long but that is what makes the class better. You can take naps and work on other hw because he does take attendance.

Frank Coppa is a good professor however he's boring at times. There are only 3 tests and then the final plus a 5 page research paper. I ended up with a B in the course. He typically curves the tests by 20 points just take notes, pay attention and you should do well DONT BUY THE BOOK

ok guy was willing to help u if u needed it but a very boring lecturer. i find history interesting and I was struggling to keep my eyes open. 3 tests each 50 MC sometimes an essay. gives u what u need to know prior to the test.

I took the telecourse. Don't buy his book it is a waste of time and money. I barely looked at it and the first chapter is available on Amazon, which is all you need. I never bothered to get my test grades and I never watched the videos, but got an A in the course. He is easy. Just have to read and prepare for the tests.

Poor communicator. Poor interpersonal communicator. Insulting. Socially awkward. That is how I would describe Frank Coppa. Mind you, I got a B+ in his course. Don't take him! There are plenty of other professors at UCC, take one of them. Good luck!

I feel a lot of the ratings are not fair. Professor Coppa is a vey good professor it is just up to the individual themselves to want to learn or pay attention. His lectures are quite clear and precise and replicate the tests. The only time you will find yourself having an issue is if you do not read the chapters assigned in the syllabus

You just need to pay attention to the lectures and write down everything he says... the tests are mainly based on his lectures, and if he's going to use the book, he'll give you the exact questions that are going t be on the text!:)just make notes and that's exactly what's going to be on the test!

He is a guy who knows about government. There's one thing I don't understand about this class though. It is supposed to be an introductory class to government and politics, for people who don't have much of a clue what this is about, like me. I haven't learned anything. I took the GOV 201 & 202 telecourses this past fall - EASY A!! His test are replicas of the workbook. You are on your own with this class - he does not communicate at all. His secretary even told me that he HIDES from students. You need to be someone that can learn on your own.

If you're looking for an easy A, take Coppa. If you want to learn anything at all, look elsewhere. I took History & Gov courses with him, and never learned a thing. His tests are easy if you study, though his lessons are fairly incoherent. But if you take notes and pretend like you're interested, it's a cake walk. He should consider retirement.

A grotesque little man! Looks like Dennis Kucinich, only uglier! Loves to hear himself talk! But truthfully speaking, there's one thing he is really, really effective at doing: and that's making sure you don't learn a thing and feel ripped off for having paid to take his class! Okay, I guess that's two things he's really good at! He STINKS!!!
