Comment:

He's really smart and a better teacher than most give him credit for if you can keep up mentally. However, he struggles answering questions if the student doesn't understand the material well enough to ask a question that actually makes sense in the context of the lecture. He is always willing to work with students outside of class.

Comment:

Major part of learning his material well is learning how to learn from him. Only thinks well inside def./thm./corollary. Sometimes went into class understanding a concept and left thoroughly confused. TON of homework, but it is leniently-graded. Heavy use of proofs. Tests are brutal. Skipped 12+ classes with no penalty. Good heart--willing to help.

He's a great person, but he's too intelligent to put his thoughts into simpler terms. I've had him for multiple classes, and every time, his teaching gets worse. He is willing to help outside of class, but he can't dumb everything down to your level of knowledge.

Took Finite math with him. He is so incredibly smart that sometimes he has a hard time "dumbing" things down. but SUCH a sweet and caring professor if you ever need help!!

A bit disorganized, teaches difficult classes. One of the most caring professors I've ever had and very available for helping students. Quirky sense of humor, very responsive to feedback, and extremely willing to work with students. Tries to challenge us, believes in his class. Also, he's brilliant.

His notes and lectures are very confusing up on the board. Tests were hard-- study in groups and do the practice tests (they were very similar which was helpful for studying). Keep up on all of the DEX and work from day 1 and you'll be on a good track. Hard class but you could tell that he is a teacher who cares about his students.

Best professor ever. It's just that simple -- he is the best professor I have ever had. He is that rarest of teachers - both knowledgable and clear. If you have the chance to take upper-level Math courses with him, DO SO.
