If I could take this prof for every physics course I would. He is amazing and extremely fair when it comes to creating and marking exams/assignments. Never felt bored during his lectures. Everything he gave us was interesting. Textbook is good for extra practice but if you focus on the notes and assignments you'll do well.

Dr. Hegmann is a great prof for this course. His assignments take quite a while to complete. also, it was his first time teaching this class, so he had no practice midterm or final. The difficulty was not as bad as I thought. Furthermore, he is very passionate about physics, and he uses demonstrations very well to explain concepts in lecture!

Entertaining lectures, but I skipped anyway. I got A in this class because I did almost all problems from textbook, which killed my youth life. Obviously, this is not everyone's favourite, so study the assignments and practice exams well as a lot of questions are from them. I always ran out of time and not finished tests. Ave for midterm was 56%

Though his course at times seems saturated with information, it is merely an extension of his habit to go above and beyond what is more than sufficient; this includes being helpful and patient. The plenty memorisation and derivations become less difficult once you are able to see the connective thread bringing it all together. Look for it actively!

Great lectures and demonstrations. Notes are well written if a bit bloated. Exams are tough as nails. Takes a long time to get marks back to you.

Dr. Hegmann really makes an effort to make his class interesting; he did a demonstration every class to keep us awake and interested, and related theory to current research whenever he could. He is a genuinely nice guy who cares very much about teaching

Outstanding! I can't think of a single class wherein he didn't perform a relevant and intriguing demo. Assignments are interesting and fair. Exams were quite lengthy, and very derivation-heavy; study assignments and lecture notes in detail. Very willing to answer questions! Wish I could have him for every physics course!!!

For his first time teaching the class, I'd say Prof. Hegmann did an excellent job. His notes and explanations were crystal clear and he actually made topics which in generally are quite dry fairly interesting. The exams are not really too difficult (know your derivations), but you will be pressed for time, so try not to think too much.

Hegmann is a really nice guy. He would reply to me in very short order when I would send him theoretical questions that were not necessarily within the scope of the course. Good humour.

Good explanations, exciting lectures, straightforward assignments and exams. For his first time teaching the course he did excellent. Hopefully next time around he won't spend too long on Special Relativity so he can get more in-depth with the interesting stuff like subatomic physics and quantum mechanics. You really can't hope for a better prof.
