Professor Lin is a kind teacher, also you can learn a lot beside the school work if you work hard. He is really a great professor who has both technical and academical skills.

AWFUL teacher....the only C+ I have at Cal State is from his class. If you are not an info technology wiz then you should not take his class. He talks too much about China and his life. Take another prof. if possible.

Dr Lin is an excellent prof His lectures are boring, but so are most of the topics he teaches. He is extremely knowledgeable in Database design and SQL. I would not hesitate to take another class with him. One bad thing is that he was gone for 3 of 10 weeks in the quarter. The material is not easy and to have the prof not there made it harder

He is nice, but weird. His class is boring, he reads the power point. And he assign project, and doesn't help. If he gives you study guide don't study for the essay questions, multiple choices are the real questions you will see on the test.

The key to beating this one is...BE IN A GROUP FULL OF SMART PEOPLE. Database is not my greatest skill, however, I still punched my way out by studying with my peers. His lecture will drain your energy. Stay awake and you'll do fine.

Dr Lin is normally a good professor,but I do not recommend taking him for 309 unless you have an IS/IT background. He is hard to understand and pretty much reads directly from the power point. He provides a study guide for the midterm and the final with all the questions comming frome the guide.Eazy

Prof. Lin is very difficult to understand. His tests are easy, but his assingments are hard because he will not explain how to do them. He lectures too much and never gives group or hands-on work. I have to fight to stay awake in his class!
