Comment:
If I can offer any advice to taking Massey, it's this: Look at all of the old exams on his HTML-based website. Understand them inside and out. If you can do that, you will be more than prepared for the exams. I've taken him twice and gotten A's twice. His lectures are dry, but he is a nice guy and will help you outside of class if you need it.

I had Prof. Massey for about 4 classes and my Master Thesis. You won't get "warm and fuzzy", but he provides you with everything you need to pass if you study, A LOT . Use his online notes as well as any other outside sources at your disposal (Online videos, tutors, etc). Once you discover what he was trying to explain it becomes much clearer.

Massey is dry but the class is easy to pass. He puts old exams to practice with online. All notes are online, so you can miss class. I would take him again.

Stay away. He might be a really nice guy, but he frequently rambles without purpose, and his lectures are about as coherent as mud. Couple this with the fact that he has designed a grading scheme that assigns the average grade in the course a C, and you walk out of his course with a B-, despite scoring 10-15 points above average each test.

Frank is a really nice guy. He provides past exams that are basically identical to the real exams. Notes are online so you can go back to them. There are a good amount of practice problems to do in the book. There is also a formula sheet on the exams and graphing calculator so no memorization or extreme math skills needed.

He's a very nice guy. He knows what he's talking about and teaches not so well but not horribly either. He gives you all the right resources to study for tests. If you go to class and pay attention and study his old tests and do the homework assignments, you should at least get a B. Outside of class he is very helpful

He's definitely pretty good at teaching calc 3. Uses detailed drawings to help students visualize the problems. Exams are pretty straightforward and he's very clear with what will be on them. The homework is very useful and if you do it you get a lot of points to boost up your grade.

Nice guy, but not the best at explaining the material. Had him before, and dropped the course. When I took the class again, with him, I discovered that you have to use his past tests posted online to halfway understand what he is talking about. You're self taught in that class so take it only if you learn best through numerous examples.

This guys sucks. all his test are story problems. i retook the class with another teacher and that teacher was way better. I was always confused in the class. He would sometimes do the problem wrong on the board. Not to mention his soda drinking and food eating during the exam

I believe that he should be a english teacher. He basically writes paragraphs on the board. He is terrible. Worst Teacher i ever had. I think he tries to explain it, but he over explains it. You have no idea what is going on. His test are hard. Basically to pass you have to teach yourself how to do the topics.

Frank is not a good teacher. He is bad at explaining things, writes illegibly, and eats cupcakes during exams, making it very difficult to focus. It's very hard to get a good grade unless you've already had a calc class and are very very smart.

This guy does not know how to teach. Period. His tests are all story problems and the class was super boring, but he does post previous tests on his website which is a lot of help (without them I might have failed though). The fact is, you have to be really good at math if you want to get an A. Good luck to everyone taking his course.

great professor. Very intelligent and knowledgeable. Always is able to help out before an exam. However, he tends to have a hard time explaining himself. Tests re hard but he has a good curve and you will do good after studying

The only reason I'm getting an A is because I had a full year of calc prior. He knows what he's talking about but he cannot explain it clearly. Easy class if you already took calc but otherwise I would NOT take him for 115.

If you have not taken Calc before AVOID this teacher. I got a B by basicly relying on personal study/practice of the old exams he gives you access to. Though they are similar it is a mixed blessing since he is horrible at effectively teaching the material. Over explains things by writing EVERYTHING on the board, even such things as "lets assume"..

He is a smart guy, he knows what he is talking about but can not explain it well. His exams are a lot harder then the practice exams he gives you. If u want to fail a required math class, take it Calc with him. Worst teacher i ever had, glad that class was over.

Only good if you have taken a full year of calc prior to this class(to review only) He is a terrible teacher otherwise. He does not teach, he just shows examples without explaining them. There is little hw to help your grade. its all up to tests. He also gives plenty of useless information not relevant to the course at all. Dont take his cours
