One of the best chemistry teachers I've ever had. While the class was based only on exam and quiz grades, his lectures were clear and concise and mostly focused on understanding the concepts.

He's pretty boring but he tries to make the material fair for everyone, not just the science majors. Do not look at the clock in his class or get caught checking your phone or sleeping he will go on a tangent about it. the tests are straight forward and he offers one on one help in chem 108 and office hours.

He wastes more time in class calling people out than explaining chemistry. His tests are not easy. He is also very hard to hear at the end of his sentences so sit in the front because he mumbles

He is one of the smartest men I've ever met. Keys to doing good: Do your homework before quizzes and exams, pay attention in class, and use his office hours. He will humiliate you when your on your phone or talking, but its rude anyway and he understand emergencies. You're the one paying about $2 a min to sit in class. Why waste it?

Novak is probably the worst professor I've had. He will use any opportunity to call you out during lecture from yawning to your phone vibrating. He is a smart man but is arrogant and not respectful. I'm dreading taking his lab

Best teacher for Chem at PSU. Makes everything clear, but it's still chemistry and he puts lots of examples on the board which help for tests. Just go to class, study, and pay attention and you'll be fine. Just don't get caught playing on your phone or talking during class or he'll humiliate you. Also, there is no curve so don't expect one.

VERY easy class. Review sessions are extremely helpful. Gives you the questions & answers to tests & quizzes the class before. Don't talk though or text otherwise the class is going to go nowhere.

One if the most helpful and studious professors in all of penn state hazleton. Except when it comes to Moe aka the "chem god". Dr. Novak's only problem was his failure to teach significant figures correctly. Also, Dr. Novak once yelled because instead of putting a balanced net ionic equation, the student supplied a coordinate pair.

Dr. Novak was a really cool guy to have. Chemistry is one of my least favorite subjects ever, but he made the pain slightly better. You can get sleepy in his class, but it's mostly the material and not him. He's very helpful and teaches at a slower pace so everyone can stay focused. Just make sure you're good in math cause that's his main focus

This guy really remembers what it's like to be a college student. Lectures are good and he explains concepts really well. Doesn't give much homework (if you consider a review sheet before a test homework) but the examples and work he does give is more than enough to understand the material without being overwelming. Take his classes if you can.

Easy, Novak is very helpful. Take Chem 6 along w/ 12 even if you place out of it. Chem 6 is a helping class that reinforces concepts. The work sheets from 6 are basically the exam in 12. Chem 15 was a bit harder than 14. Make sure labs are completed and correct!
