this man is a monster! this is the hardest college course i have ever taken. i spent more time on this class than i did all of my others together...and it's only 3 credit hours! he is mean, and he makes it very clear that he enjoys our pain. his exams and quizzes are ridiculously specific. too much work for not enough credit. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

This man...is a genius. Extremely knowledgeable about his subject, clearly passionate about it, and he clearly enjoys teaching. The most helpful professor I have ever had. He expects students to behave and work as if they were in COLLEGE, though, not kindergarteners. Be prepared to actually LEARN something. Totally worth the effort.

Saying that I dreaded going to this class is an understatement! Dr. Vaughn is SO smart, but most of the time I felt like he wasn't teaching the material very well. Tests were hard but if you studied you could make at least a B. He will help if you ask for it...Prepare lots of questions for him to answer and he will go off on a tangent..aka no quiz!

If you're taking a gen ed English class and you could really care less about analysing what you're reading, try and avoid him. He is way too deep a thinker, I don't know why he spends his time on low level classes. Has an annoying habit of threatening quizzes if you don't constantly spew out insightful remarks, which is annoying in a small class.

he is a love him or hate him kind of prof. there is no in between. personally, i think he's absolutely brilliant and have learned more from him than any other prof at campbell. my advice: if you are willing to WORK for your grade, take him and enjoy the ride. if you are LAZY, then you'll want to run home crying to your mommy.

ahhh! dont take this professor until you are an english major or just crazy. he is TOO smart and extremely confusing. his tests are hard to study for and he is very vague about what is on the final. very prejudiced against students who talk in class and those who don't. by all means, avoid this class. i didnt learn anything

He is pretty tough. Will quiz you in a heartbeat so you better read the stories. If he asks questions and the class is giving good responses, you can normally get out of having a quiz that day. Grades papers with very little mercy and he will let you know that. Not the easiest A to get. You better be a pretty good writer.

Very hard, but great teacher. His classes consist of discussion mostly. Just do your readings and talk in class. If you don't talk and prove to him that you read the material, you will get a quiz. I would recommend him to anyone who loves engish!
