I wouldn't say he's the best professor, but he is very knowledgeable. The last half of the semester went by too fast, so make sure you read or take really good notes. His lectures are a little long and sometimes not clear. It's very important to pay attention or ask questions. I actually learned a lot around South East Asia and the history.

He is honestly a good teacher, lectures are long but interesting, pay attention, and show up to class. When your note-taking don't just write what's on the screen, write what he says. You have to read, read!! There are Internet excerses that he quizes on, only 3 questions on quizes if you do them, your good. Study for tests!! I enjoyed the class.

Content is great but poor delivery. His study guide is so vague so it's a little hard to know what he wants. His lectures are boring and some of his content is irrelevant to anything. His exam questions aren't complicated but a lot of them aren't on the study guide. Overall, he isn't a good professor.

He's a decent professor although very boring & long lectures too. Power points are up in BB & gives out random pop quizzes (he will tell you beforehand sometimes). He expects you to read a lot & do his internet questions. One essay but it was ridiculous. He's like strict on the format & every little thing on it. Although just try your best! 2 exams

He is very passionate & wise. He tries to make lectures fun. However, the reading is an overload, his paper is 6-7 pgs, his study guides are LONG, you seriously have to remember every small detail! His accent is sometimes hard to understand and he talks a little soft, so hard to hear. Has a few online quizzes. This class requires hours of studying

Friendly guy but doesn't teach well. Lectures are long due to the fact that he doesn't know how to use his Mac. He also writes on the white board when lecturing but smashes and scatters everything. It's chaotic, confusing, and unorganized. There is a lot of homework through readings, internet assignments, and writing (research paper).

Learned quite a bit from this class. However, I do not feel that his test reflected the knowledge he wanted us to learn. If you take this class get ready to memorize dates and names as if it was a history class. (even though he says he won't test on that). Also get ready to read 3 books and spend hours watching youtube videos.

Super smart guy that lectures about A LOT of information. 1 midterm, 1 research paper & a final. Also offers 5 extra credit quiz that are worth 6 pts each. Exams consist of materials from the textbooks and majority of what he writes on the whiteboard in class (take good notes). He has a pretty big curve on exams too, 75=A.

I took his class during the summer. He's a nice and friendly guy and will help you if you have any questions about the assignments/readings. Be sure to read the chapters and pay attention in lectures because questions about the lectures WILL come up in quizzes/tests.

He knows his stuff, I give him that much, but most of what he talks about is asians. Watched pointless movies, lecture was all over the place, he writes random stuff on the board, says to study one thing for tests while making it about something totally different and he did not give ample time to finish the tests he gave. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM...

Do not take this professor!!! He says he curves the first test but turns out almost everyone fails the first test. He writes what he will be talking about on the board but jumps around which makes it hard to take notes on. Very boring and unorganized professor so be aware!!!

Worked hard for an "A" in this class; it's an upper-div. GE class. Interesting material; provides lectures, videos, and online assignments. Two books to read. Tests are objective. Good luck getting a perfect score, though. Some questions are worded obscurely. Thorough notes are a must have if you want an A. Grades on a curve. Nice guy, nonetheless.

Grades on a curve. I studied for the exam and got a 75, which is an A. The exam questions are obscure and designed to prevent perfect scores. Essays must be grammar and letter perfect, one mistake in the bibliography and the entire page fails. His dry sense of humor only adds to the pain of your grade. Be prepared for useless net exercises.

Ng lives, eats, breaths this stuff. All his notes on the board are from memory. He doesn't like questions. The internet exercises are painful on top of three in class books covering two chapters a week. Hardest A you will ever earn.

Nice and knowledgeable professor. Shows a lot of videos. Learned a lot about Asian Americans. Lots of studying to get good grades, but if you do your homework, test should be ok. One 1000 word essay required but it's easy.

Can be tough to stay focused during lectures, but take lots of notes anyway. Basing your midterm/final essay answers heavily on the lectures will help. If you don't do the internet exercises, write down the correct answers when they are reviewed, some will be on tests. A lot rides on the paper (a lot of attention to detail) and the essays.

If you don't need to, I highly recommend not taking this class. He's a nice guy and but he expects his students to do too much reading. His internet exercises were given out almost every week and would have like 20 links for readings and videos which also had questions. He still expected you to read from 5 different books.Ridiculous class.

Great teacher, I really enjoyed the class. The lectures are good and interesting, but can get boring & dull. Do the study guides, text books are basically on exams. Overall, I recommend this course & this professor. Learned a lot.

Great professor, but can get off topic. Most of what he teaches in class isn't on the exams. Class can be boring, only twice did I enjoy the lectures. 2 exams, 1 four pg paper, 6 extra credit quizzes (doesn't hurt grade), videos, & lots of readings & internet exercises. Study & you'll do fine. Got a C & I didn't try hard or studied. NO HOMEWORK!!!
