Go to class, take notes, study for tests, do assignments & you will have a 4.0. I did. Assignments are 3-part: exposure-did you take all the pics he asked?; creativity-are pics interesting; print-is it clear, in focus, mounted correctly? How easy is that? Lectures for the 1st hr of each class & the rest is lab time. Tests are directly from lecture.

He's corny. You have to ask the RIGHT ? to get him to give you an answer. A fair grader, very clear & specific on the assignment sheets. Don't get behind-not enough open lab hrs to get caught up. Is the only teacher for this class. Contrary to other comments here I haven't seen him be critical of others work in class, only positive comments.

This teacher is an idiot. I am currently in his class. I was told I was in Group2, but when I handed in my assignments, I found out I was in group one, and didnt recieve credit. He berates my work in front of class (even though several of my peices have been published, and I make good money doing senior and wedding shoots.) Very unclear directi

Well, after a half semester in his class, I must take back my previous statements about him. He is an extremely hard grader, and never lets you know when stuff is due. Degrades your photos in front of the entire class (even one of my photos which was published in a very well known magazine). NEVER explains exactly what he wants out of the assignments, basically gives it to you and says to do them. Overall, a VERY unpleasant classroom experience.

Seems like a nice guy. So far I have not had a problem with him, though he does seem to pick on me quite often when giving examples. I do not know if this is because I bring all my photography gear to school, including my $8000 Canon 1dsmk2, or if it is because I have had several peices of my work published so far, but other than him picking me out all the time, he seems like a nice guy. Failed darkroom test, since I was not aware of the test in advance, but I develop my fil at home, so it is no biggy.

I really like him, I think he is an awesome professor, and he is really understanding. I think he is very helpful, and as long as you are willing to listen, he is a good teacher. Yes, he may throw you into things, but that is what a college is, you are expected to be mature, and responsible. Try a big University, it's much harder than anything he teaches. If ever I didn't understand something, he went out of his way to help me, and my classmates understand, which is more than I could ask for.

Never did a review of material before tests, With a week in between classes a review should be standard.As hard as I tried,I can't say I actually learned anything.He's just a body taking up students time and money,about half the class failed,he did too!Should have retired long ago.what a waste...

BIG TIME JERK!!!!If you want answers ask your classmates or the lab assistant....he answers your questions with a question. Then tells you something looks great and downgrades you in front of the whold class. Tests are hard and he dosn't word anything on them like in his lectures. STAY AWAY FROM HIM

One of the most horrible teachers in the world.. tells you how to do stuff, but cant explain anything because it confuses him. Also.. he speaks really fast, and mumbles all but the last 3 words of every paragraph which he yells, and says super clear.
