Best professor I've ever had. He was able to make Finance fun. Homework was easy and he usually gives tons of time to do it. His tests are easy, with the exception of anything written by the department. Take this class!

He made a boring subject fun! Make sure you keep up with the Study Guide Questions in the back of the book and do FinCoach. He tells you exactly what's on the exams. Exams are open note IF the notes are handwritten. Exam 1 is more conseptual (the reading), Exam 2 is mathmatical, and the department final is similar to the one on the FIN 320 website.

Fred is a great teacher. He has a great sense of humor and only goes over what you need to know to pass the tests. Some of the practice questions are on the real tests. Come to class, take excellent notes because you can use them on the tests, and ask an occasional question for participation points. Buy the calculater he recommends.

Hoekstra was probably one of my favorite professors this past semester. He really wants you to succeed and does his best to help you out. He makes class interesting and is always there to help at his office hours. He works in Finance so he has real-life scenario's and experience.

Was warned b4 class not to take him, but had to because of schedule. He did not turn out bad. I was prepared for the worst. He's into the subject,explains in layman terms for those of us who hate Finance. Tests are tough. Fincoach&Final are dept exams &tough, his tests are easier cuz only tests on what covered in class.Not bad, virtually painfree.

Fred's a great guy and enaging proffesor. He provides open notes for exams and allows room for extra credit. Tests are specific and midterm is somewaht difficult. I would recommend him for any Finance Majors or people truly interested in Finance.

Easy A , if your good in math and you don't mind reading a dry book. Good teacher, with good attitude toward students and is very willing to help even if your not good at the math. Take good notes espically from the text as they'll help you on the tests. Its all open notes only handwritten once.
