Best business professor at Illinois Wesleyan. He truly cares about students' career. You won't have to read any textbook, but you will have to read an actual book that is useful to your business career. You will have to read a lot, but no midterm or final for any of his classes.

I hated this class. The teacher gives you no directions at all. You aren't sure what he wants, and when you ask for clarification, he is no help. You have to read a ton for this class. Most of the readings are interesting, but not when you have to read like 70 pages for each class.

Hoyt teaches multiple business courses and should be considered Wesleyan's *number one resource* for any business major. Simply put, Hoyt is a professor who actually requires (and encourages) you to THINK. No textbooks here: you'll be using real life case studies and examples as a background. His classes are FUN, but there is no room for slacker

Hoyt's class is easy and fun (we start each class by doing yoga), but if you like structure, you may want to look elsewhere. His teaching style is all over the place and he gets sidetracked (mostly talking about himself) constantly.

one of the problems with IWU is that it does NOT prepare you for life after college. hoyts class is probably the first time that i was challenged to come up with an original idea. people that like to space out in class hate him. but self motivated people generally love him. his classes helped me find a career, and not a job i'd hate.

I didn't get Hoyt at first, but once you do, you'll like him. He is always available for help, and enjoys his job to the fullest. He will make you think, and be honest about the way the world works. He's a great resource for going into the business world!

Very good professor. Makes class fun (even though he has the students teach for him). Very understanding professor. Although unstructured/unorganized at times, he has a great heart and means well, so it's hard not to like him. You get a lot out of his class.
