"I hear: I forget. I see: I remember. I do: I understand." Dr. Cohen is brilliant, and always willing to help students. He subscribes to the Moore Method; that is, class is instructive for developing basic intuition for concepts, but true knowledge is gained through homework completion and conversation in his office hours. Amazing experience!

Nice guy, but terribly disorganized. Can't finish half of his proofs. Frequently begins teaching a topic after homework on that topic is already handed in, which makes going to class pretty pointless. He is a brilliant guy, however, and very willing to help.

This is the best professor I had all my freshmen year, this guy is great. You can go to him for everything at any time and he really cares about your understanding of the topic regardless of your grade or whatever else, he just wants you to learn. He might seem a bit tough at first, but then HE RULES!

Loved this class, mostly because of him. I entertained my friends with his ridiculous math metaphors, I am now a math major because of the class. He expects a LOT out of you at first, but eases up after the first test. Very responsive to our homework woes. Assumes that you want to know the whole back story for every proof. Sweetest prof ever!

He tells very corny jokes and sometimes gets lost in his own proofs. He assumes his students know most of the material and doesn't help much when he ends class in the middle of a proof. It also doesn't help when he gives a proof in class, asks you to prove it on an exam, and marks it wrong, even when you copied it straight from the board.

He's a really nice guy and legitimately wants to see his students succeed but he's really horrible at explaining key subjects and tends to lose focus of what he's talking about and then get the example problem wrong and then he'll tell the students to finish it by themselves when he hasn't taught them how to do it.

Nice guy. Corney Jokes. Makes lots of mistakes on the board but just arithmatic usually. I have found that most of the non honors low level math professors are poor so I would say that he is above average in comparison but I still don't think he was a good teacher.

Better than Harper. Decent at explaining the material. Follows the book mostly. The course isn't fun; webwork is a killer. Cohen is a considerate professor. He rewrites, redraws, uses different colored chalk to indicate things. Not a bad experience overall.
