Had him for 3 semesters of German. He understands learning a new language is difficult. Tests are hard but they're made by the department, not him. Very understanding & is always available when you need extra help. Participation and attendance is a must. He makes class fun. Hes the best and my favorite professor at NIU. I HIGHLY recommend him!

He's a really good professor. He's really concerned with making sure his students understand the material and is super understanding about about attendancehomework. & he usually lets you make it up if you miss one. The tests are hard, but the quizzes are straight-forward. There's a lot of homework both written & online, but it's a doable class.

Herr Stuebing is hands down my favorite teacher. He's a very friendly, easy-going, and funny guy. Class is always interesting. He can keep students under control. If you need help he will take as much time as needed to make sure you understand. Tests are a bit tough. He follows the syllabus to the letter. I would highly recommend taking his class.

Herr Stuebing really made German enjoyable. Even though I struggled with certain topics, he would take the time to explain them more if you needed the extra help. The class is very interactive, and there are many assignments, but they are short and fairly easy. He is super funny and helpful.

Herr Stuebing is my favorite german teacher at NIU. He is the best teacher in the German department and it's a shame he is only an instructor teaching the 100-200 level classes. If he taught the upper level classes, I know I would be learning MUCH more every semester. He's very clear about expectations, really helpful, and an overall great guy.

Stuebing is one of the best language professors I've ever had. I've had 3 prior teachers but he has been the teacher that has taught he the most and kept me interested. I had him at 9am MWF and still managed to go to class and get decent grades, so that's saying something. He's really understanding and funny once you get to know him. Great guy.

Herr Stuebing is AWESOME! He is from Germany, so he actually teaches about the culture as well as language. It's a foreign language, so its difficult, but if you put forth effort, he makes it wonderful. He is totally funny, don't let your feelings get hurt, he's helping you. I wish I was gonna be here longer, so I could take more of his classes!!!

Professor Stuebing is a class act. There is humor in every class and his wit is delightful. The homework is there to keep you disciplined and it works! He offered me outstanding assistance and went out of his way to help me when I was struggling and near tears. He turned me around and I succeeded! You will LOVE HIM!

Professor Stuebing is a difficult teacher to work with. His humor is very different and come some times seems as though he is making fun of his students in a very unfair way. He isn't very helpful during class but one on one he is more helpful. He focuses are grammar a lot. He isn't pleasant but he is knowledgable. Wish we was nicer though.

Simply the best foreign language teacher I've had. I've taken Spanish off & on for years & the clarity in this class was the best of any teacher I've had. It's a fun environment and his use of videos, humor, and personal stories help the learning process. I regret not taking German sooner.

Herr Stubing was a fantastic professor. He would always take time to make sure you understood what was going on in class, and always had time for students who felt behind. He made things interesting in class instead of just lecturing about the dreaded grammar and is totally hot in that older German guy sort of way
