Sikora is absolutely awesome! I wasn't too fond of him at first because he likes to rant but once you get into the subject matter it's a lot better. He's very sweet and genuinely concerned about his students.

He's so sweet, and very accommodating. Although his class can be hard to stay awake during some of the time, he always had interesting stories about his life. Increased my interest in sociology after taking this class.

His class was pretty easy to sit through if you brought a phone or iPod to use during it. Make sure you study a lot for the first test and ignore what people say about how easy he is. He is pretty easy after the first test but you have to figure out how to study for his tests or you will be screwed. I really liked him overall!

Most boring class ever! I could barely stay awake. All he does is talk about his past life. Can barely hear anything he says. Really liked sociology before this class, not anymore. The only way to pass this class is to read the textbooks!

He's a little boring..but the subject matter is interesting. He is a real sweet guy and very willing to help. He gives you study questions for the test if you do them and can write about the questions you will be fine.

Very good teacher. Keeps class interesting, and has good stories. Tests are aren't too hard if you study for 2-3 hours beforehand, and grading is very fair.

Dr. Sikora may be the world's most boring man, but he is very nice and a good teacher overall. The class consisted of only three tests and a paper, so its crucial that you do well on them. The paper was a breeze (many people got 100%), and the tests arent bad if you study. No homework ever, but you have to stay on top of the reading. Good teacher.

Just don't do it to yourself. Avoid taking him if you can. Sitting in his lectures were some of the most painful/boring moments of my life. You'll know his entire life story by the end of the semester. Spare yourself.

Had for soc problems, internship, juvenile delinquency, and community action...avoid the latter at all costs...it's just not organized yet...the others, he may have been a bit dry with and his tests are a challenge, but he is great overall...he is especially great when it comes to independent work...he is also great as an advisor...i actually talked to him more often than i did my own advisor...

Sikora is a great guy. He can seem really quirky and confusing at first, but once you get to know him you'll find that he genuinely cares about his students and is always glad to help. The lectures are a little boring, but the class was really valuable and broadened my perspective.

He is a really great professor not only to know on an academic level, but he really cares about his students in general. Sometimes his material is dry and (in 370) his requirements are a little vague, but all in all he is still one of my favorites at IWU.
