I thought Dean Messere was a great teacher. He is a very knowledgeable man, its worth studying hard to get through this difficult class. You will a lot of important material that will be useful in your career. The first abstract you have to write seems tough but they get easier as time goes on.

He is very unorganized and when you email him about an issue it takes him weeks to get back to you.. if he responds at all. Hes an awesome guy and a great dean.. but not a good professor by any means.

Fritz is one of the most unreliable and annoying teachers I've ever met. Guy really loves soaking up the sun in Vegas half the time so have fun getting lost. Life is certainly supposed to be full of challenges but this guy could care less about how you do. Have fun taking his class you'll be left to dry

Comment:

Fritz is more worried about going to Vegas than teaching a class (went three different times this past semester). Should not be teaching while he is Dean. He lost one of my papers (then found it two weeks later- still waiting for apology), and changes due dates constantly. Take this class with someone else to avoid being confused and frustrated.

This is a hard class with Fritz. Those students who take it with someone else might get a higher grade but they learn less. Tests are decently hard but there's usually a curve. Four law abstracts to write. The first one is almost a guaranteed C, but after that they'll be easier and you're akmost certain to be looking at a B after that.

Fritz is one of the toughest professors that any broadcasting student at SUNY Oswego will come across. That being the case, you will gain more knowledge in Fritz's classes that will impact your career than other other classes at SUNY Oswego. He's a tough, but very fair professor.

Tough class, learn a lot. Projects aren't graded as hard as I thought they would be. Tests = impossible. He was very willing to help, though. A very smart man.

Fritz is a tough but fair teacher. Do not take this class if you are not serious about putting up the effort and thought necessary for it. He knows you have a brain and he expects you to use it. For those that do, you'll be well served by the pressure and knowledge given during Fritz's class.

Not only is the material fascinating, but Fritz is an expert on the topic and a pretty entertaining professor to boot. He is also fair and has reasonable expectations of students. The work done in this class really does help students learn about the subject at hand. I recommend it.

I had this guy several years ago and thinking about him still makes me cringe. If you disagree with him at all he'll call you a failure. Huge but undeserved ego. The only thing I learned from his class is that if he can get a PhD then I can too. Thanks Fritz.

Comment:

Good Professor, very specialized and pretty hard subject matter. But he wrote a textbook on Broadcasting so he really knows the material and he breaks it down so anyone can understand it. He is very fair but you can not coast in this class. You have to do the reading and pay attention in class. I really enjoyed this class and this professor.

Do not take this class online, it was by far my worst idea ever. This guy is a joke, and for him to be the head of the department makes me cringe. Modules were hard to follow, a lot of work just seemed to stack up. Didn't even know we were going to have a final until four days before. I should love this class, but this guy made me hate it.

This class was fairly difficult than what I and the others in the class expected. The majority did poor on his exams, whether it be because there was too much material to cover, or too confusing after discussing it. I would take another class with him, just not this class. Brilliant instructor but hard for students to grasp at times.

This class is crazy,the man don't proof read his directions and it makes the students confused and lost.His TA is a english major and she checks most of our papers,that makes no sense,last time i checked i signed up for a BRC class NOT a ENG class(which i already completed).And he needs to stop assigning more projects while one is already assigned.

Terrible teacher. Has no concept of time, is late to class every day and never gives out assignments on time. Impossible to follow because he does not tell you what he expects and does not answer questions you ask. Do not take a class with him, he will make you hate your life.

Basically the worst teacher I have ever had. He has no idea of what a deadline is and constantly changes dates around. Yet he wants you to be on time. The TA is from the English department, and Fritz has absolutely no idea what most of the material is about. Assignments are also poorly explained resulting in my inability to complete them well.
