Comment:

She's one of the best teachers I've ever had. She's nice, caring, and knows her stuff. Don't skip class, be prepared to do tons of homework, but also be prepared to learn a lot. Tests are fair but tough. Be sure to do all homework, preparation questions, labs, etc. Like the blend of lecture and lab.

Comment:

Great professor. Very passionate about physics, and very clear in her teaching. Tests are easy, quizzes can be difficult. Lots of support is offered to help you pass the class. Understanding and willing to help if you have a special situation (just talk to her ahead of time). Don't be late.. Don't skip class. Homework light and mostly optional.

Dr. Welsh is very passionate about the subject. Her notes on the board are pretty hard to follow at times, so be prepared to organize your notes in a more personal way. She's very knowledgeable, and as long as you show her respect and go to her for help when you need it, you will pass. She gives a ridiculous amount of homework, so start it early.

Dr. Welsh is super passionate about physics and is willing to help you as much as possible. Don't be late to her class because she will mark you absent. She values punctuality. She gives us homework every week but she allows us to do homework corrections. Also do every prep question, they are easy points that will help your grade. Go to her office!

Absolutely amazing! Had her for 2 semesters and she made me love physics. Always willing to provide help and very flexible office hours. Lectures are straightforward, however labs tend to be a little long. Constant homework. Her due dates are flexible until the day of exam.

Dr. Welsh is one of the sweetest professors I've ever had. She is silly and cares that her students understand the material. I am not a science person but she helped me understand physics way more than I expected to. Dr. Welsh rocks!!!!!!!!

Awesome teacher, super passionate about her job. She'll explain something to you in any number of ways until you understand. Its a physics class, so its not going to be easy, and she's a real stickler when it comes to grading. If you take this class, you will learn a TON

Dr. Welsh is the best teacher I have ever had. **this mainly applies to her upper level courses** She expects you to read the book, and come to class prepared and then you do group workproblems, and she lectures as you work through the problems. I'm very hands on, so this is perfect for me. Very fair grader, tests are fair, lots of assignments.

A lovely lady who is passionate for teaching. She is always available to help and wants everyone to succeed. She tries to make everything really simple and clear. Test can be a little tricky but if you go to SI and study and use all the studying material she gives you, there shouldn't be a problem.

If you go into a class expecting to hate it, odds are you probably will. which is often the case with physics. There is nothing wrong with this professor's teaching, people just have an issue with the subject. I would take her over anyone else in the physics department any day

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. Her class is miserable. She is a nice lady but she can not teach. Her grading is ridiculous becuase she is so picky and the test are sooooo hard. Plus, the final is cumulative! STAY AWAY!

She welcomes questions in class and is very helpful during office hours. Her class was intellectually stimulating, and you rarely see a professor with her high level of dedication to the student. Her grading can be a bit harsh, but if you care more about learning physics than getting an easy A, definitely take her.

She is really straight forward in the equations, gives you labs almost every class, and has VERY few days where she only lectures. she also tends to have great office hours in case you need any help and answers emails promptly.DO YOUR HOMEWORK. the homework will explain EVER test verrrrrry well. (many times her test questions are from hw or labs)

She is really helpful! She explains things very well and is there to help you! There is a quiz every week but it's always really easy! Do your homework! She grades it for correctness but it's always on what you learned in class so you should have no problem. Take her!

Nice lady. Know's what shes talking about and explains it very well. Test can be challeneging but as long as you understand the material, you should do just fine. Homework isn't too difficult but she does take some petty points off here and there. If its between Brown and Welsh for Physics, go with Welsh- trst me!

Very nice and good teacher, but very hard teacher too. Tests are hard, but she explains the material very well. I liked her even though she was hard and I struggled in her class.
