I took this class having only taken two years of high school Spanish so it was a bit of a challenge, but me and other class mates of mine agree that he was still a great professor! The class is a lot of work(which makes sense since your learning a language) the tests were all written responses! No multiple choice or fill in the blank! apply passA

No homework and the class is packed with learning material. He teaches this class very laid back - because it's for heritage speakers. 3 tests, 2 papers, 1 presentation, a blog and an e-portfolio.

Prior to being in this class I had a huge passion for Spanish but because of the way that I was treated left me with a sour taste. I wasn't sure that I would keep taking Spanish classes. He literally picks on students when they don't understand material and makes them feel like they are stupid. I feel bad to whomever he treats like this next.

Didn't like this class because it was history and student-taught. The first test was hard, but prepared you to his style of testing. Each test was similar. 2 small easy essays. Always willing to help. Be prepared for many presentations

The linguistics class was much harder. He expects a lot out of you but the tests are open book and open note. There was never any homework so if you come to class and ask questions, you'll do good. He seems intimidating but I felt confident in asking questions during class.

This is a literature class. We read what would be on the test in class and he makes it crystal clear on understanding. for the quizzes, study Quizlet and you'll get good grades each time. print the study guide for each test and you can manage a 3.0. Great teacher, knows his material!

Spanish used to be my major, but after taking him, I felt like it was a joke. I was always confident in speaking, but he made me feel very stupid and not capable of speaking his language. He was very condescending and would smirk if you said something the wrong way. He is also very hard to get a hold of. Changed my major, dont take from him.

Garcia-Sanchez is a really great professor, always funny and understanding and willing to share his insights beyond the textbook. He fully expects students to do their part to learn the material.
