He is extremely unprofessional. When a female student goes to him to go over her assignment, he pulls her into a room by herself and shuts the door. I find this EXTREMELY inappropriate.

Avoid Cardot at all costs. This man has no respect for his students. He will treat you as though you are in middle school. The strays from the material almost every class. Material is read DIRECTLY from the slide, which the publisher created. Lastly, he loves to lecture you on why our generation is causing the world to decline. DO NOT TAKE CARDOT!

Lectures get quite stale and monotonous although hard to say how they could be made that much better. The material is abundant but straight forward, with very clear study guides for tests. 1 mid-term and 1 final paper, which is a rather easy revision of the first paper. Gives huge insight and develops new ways of thinking about our world. GREAT.

Unless you have no other choice - DO NOT take Cardot. He's incredibly stale, reads from the slides (created by the book's website), and expects you to memorize hundreds of pieces of art and info that doesn't even pertain to art history. While he does know his stuff, he doesn't actively engage the classroom in what he's lecturing.

Be prepared to work if you take his class. I had him 15 years ago, and still remember the impression he made on me....AND, still remember the art history, so there's your proof! I'm an art teacher myself now. :) Mr. Cardot gave me a new appreciation for modern art (a nice change of pace from Burke's postmodern "enthusiasm")& yes, he's a hottie ;)
