Comment:
Dr. Fournier is a brilliant guy and that works against him at times. He definitely expects you to have a broader knowledge base than principles economics classes which I was so I never felt overwhelmed by the material. Class lectures are dry, but you don't need the book and his grading criteria RARELY yields less than a B with SOME kind of effort

Did not apply myself very much and got a B in the class. Also, never used the textbook. Very lenient grader.

Read the book, its a lot more informative than going to class. He's very nice and an easy grader, but very soft spoken and doesn't write well on the board.

Dr. F has a bad rap on here, but he is the man. Yes, his class is challenging, but seriously, you are in a 4000 level course. You know you have to study, and do the work. Do the exam reviews fully and you will do fine. His office is always open! He is hard to understand in class a little, but hey, read the book. Take him!

Dr. Fournier expects you to have a fluent background in mathematics from day one. As time goes on, you will have time to catch up if not. He has a way of not explaining each step in the equations, but if you ask for help outside of class, he is normally available. Show your work to receive at least partial credit!

Interesting subject, very boring teacher. He's a very lenient grader. You're better off reading the slides online and reading the book in your own spare time. Study groups definitely help too. Don't skip class though; he takes attendance and it'll help you in the end. I'd take him again, despite the severity of boredom.

He is left handed and uses the document camera, is over-reliant on the math without the intuition, and because of the murkiness of the material, was not particularly useful. He is a great guy, one of the nicest professors I have ever had, and really tries to be helpful, but he is not good at communicating material.

I am going to be honest. Though my grading of him seems harsh, he is not the worst professor. There are much worse. He is very nebulous in how he speaks and his lessons aren't always the clearest, but if you really have a basic understanding of economics, his class is not impossible. I scraped through applied micro with a B+. Nice person.

He's a good guy but it's hard to take away the key points from his lectures. The material is very dry. The book is a must have and you better keep up with material. You don't really turn in or do much. The lectures are boring but he does give extra credit and is a lenient grader. If you put in the honest effort, you will be fine.Regulation isnt fun

He is the worst teacher by far. His handwriting is worse than a doctor and he's a lefty so he covers up the notes and switches pages so you can't read. All examples relate to ADHD medications, which aren't useful at all. His ideas are as clear as a glass with dog crap smeared on it. He doesn't care that the class average is below a C.

Im an economics major and love economics but he is absolutely the worst professor at FSU. He used the projector for his notes and uses markers which makes it hard to read, on top of HIS TERRIBLE hand writing. Lectures are unclear. Extremely boring. Monotone voice. 3/4 of the class stopped showing up for class. Avoid his class if possible!!!!!

Teacher really understood material about Anti-trust and Regulation. Loose grader of exams and provides lots of opportunities for extra credit. Book was a must have for me and had to keep up with reading. Handouts helped and were very similar to empirical test problems

I agonized through 15 weeks with this guy. He can communicate ideas clearly only to himself. He expects us to read his mind. His lectures were extremely boring. The subject matter is not very hard, but it's made that way when he teaches because he's very talented at confusing his students. People showed up just to give him a bad SPOT review.

Nice guy but he can give some extremely boring lectures that are hard to get much from. The study guides are helpful and the powerpoint slides are online. The book sucks. Difficult class no matter who is teaching it.
