So funny! Such a nice guy and very understanding. If you aren't a history major probably not the professor for you. Super knowledgeable about all things Britain and India. Would definitely take again.

Dr. Gibbs is a decent history professor, at best. He focuses too heavily on England and India (his two great historical loves) in this WORLD history class. He assigns lots of nightly reading, which are not well supplemented by his meandering lectures.

Comment:

Not the kind if professors to host a class discussion, but has many interesting things to say. I find him to be very funny, but if you're not well versed in history you may miss many of his jokes. All in all, definitely recommend for history majors.

Prof. Gibbs is interesting. He is genuinely interested about his classes and can be entertaining. Be warned, he will go on tangents and is very poor in non-verbal communication (e.x. email). His exams follow the pattern of an identify the figure section followed by multiple essays of varying lengths. Avoid if not history major.

I have had Dr. Gibbs for several classes now. He is a bit of a scatter brain but if you pay attention, he is easy to follow. Loves what he teaches and loves people who love learning.

If you are not a History buff, you will not like Dr. Gibbs. He makes alot of jokes that are only funny if you're a history person like him. His tests consist almost entirely of essays, and they're very specific, so be prepared for it. He also tries to only assign a cheap textbook. Overall I would recommend him to history majors.

Gibbs loves what he teaches, but doesn't make class very interesting. His notes are very hard to follow, as he'll talk about one thing..and then start a completely different subject before going back to the original subject..Not very polite either, I might add.

I had Dr.Gibbs for a Henry VIII history INQ. Dr. Gibbs really loves his field of study and it shows. He seems a little scatter-brained at times and often goes off topic when he senses that students are not interested. However, take notes and make sure to go to his office hours, ESPECIALLY for him to review papers because he is very particular.

This guy is the type to pick class pets. He likes to think he's funny. His essay questions are incomprehensible and he deducts a LOT if you don't say what he's looking to find. Complete waste of class & the worst teacher I've had in 3 yrs at RC.

Dr. Gibbs was awesome, so funny and really enjoyed his teaching style - he treats his students like responsible adult scholars, not children to be belittled. Do the readings, and take up his offer to look at paper drafts, he helps hone your skills for future classes. A must have!

Dr GGG does, like to hear himself talk, he also opposes most everything and not in a thought provoking manner as some may think, but a seemingly petty one; He does not encourage but dis. and for a Phd in Brit His. he does like India
