What Leisk does teach in class is understandable, but he doesn't cover nearly as much of the material as he expects you to know for homework and tests. Better than Saigal by far though

This class is basically just learning how to use the textbook. Leisk talks really fast, but explains everything as thoroughly as possible. He is also very helpful outside of class if you ever need it.

He is clearly a very smart engineer but has trouble comprehending that not everyone knows as much about engineering as he does. He never stops to explain what he is talking about and assumes everyone understands. His tests are unrealistic in difficulty and length and after having him for 2 semesters, I believe I have learned nothing from him .

Leisk is an excellent professor with a strong grasp of the big picture and what an undergraduate engineering education entails. Lectures are catered to students' progress, rather than a rote reiteration of his past semesters. Puts large focus on real life application and concerns. Lectures are clear to understand and he is helpful outside of class.

Prof. Leisk is an okay guy but this class is not his area of expertise. He therefore has to rely heavily on his notes and often makes mistakes in trying to explain things off-the-cuff. An okay professor... Helpful and pretty easy on the grading but he tends to get behind on the material yet still assigns homework on things not yet covered. Can be very frustrating!

Leisk is not especially interesting or exciting, but that's not to say that he's a bad professor. He is very nice and a fair and easy grader. I think the fact that he's relatively young makes him more personable and approachable.

The most dedicated to students in the ME department by far. Wants to see students understand the material & succede with projects, and will help if approached. If you can take a class with Leisk or anothe prof, definitely chose Leisk.
