Gary Mielo is by far a professor that could have been teaching at an ivy league level. Its a shame he is retiring at the end of the 2011 academic year. i feel sorry for anyone at SCCC who never got the chance to enjoy one of his classes.

He is wonderful! I took this class online with him. When he grades my work he actually leaves comments. He tells you how you could perfect it further as well as remarks on the parts he loves the most. He points out what you need to work on. So even if you get a perfect grade, he still provides examples as to how you could have made it better.

No really he is super great and he isn't hard as long as he knows you try and dont slack. he has a great personality and is very fun during class-although it was fun and stuff i still learned a lot. would def tell all students to request to take him! you won't regret it/be disappointed/or bored during class!

super prof! took his online class. prior to the class i had no english classes for the last 15 years so i was lost to say the least. Mielo offered his help, gave great pointers, explained exactly what he wanted and encouraged you along the way. i had to work my butt off but it was all worth it at the end.

BEST professor ever took for english and speech.. Completely understanding of all students situations, and knows how to teach a class. Uses interesting current situations in politics and news to lecture and keeps the class involved so it's very interesting. Take his class.. you won't regret it!

OMG I Had Mielo every single semester cuz i just couldn't imagine being at SCCC and not taking one of his classes...hes byfar the best teacher there...very nice guy awesome and he relates to his students. he helped me a whole lot with my writing, and I am now a media and cinema studies at ramapo college of NJ...def. take him, hes awesome
