I would not recommend her to anyone that struggles in math. She a very sweet lady, but is tough... If you miss a day or 2 for being sick or something, just forget it (not going to pass). We had over 112 assignments online to do, many quizzes, pop quizzes, and never really reviewed for test..

Ms. Hamby is an excellent professor. Lovely person, very intelligent and really knows what she's doing. There's tons of homework but honestly at the end this helps because it helps you master the subjects. I totally loved her class, and helped me a lot when I struggled with something. If you have to take any type of math, take her.

Comment:

Mrs. Hamby has been the best math instructor I have had! There is quite a bit of homework, but it prepares you for the test. The amount of work also helps your grade(if you fail a quiz it won't drop your grade a lot because of the other assignments).

Comment:

As someone who has never had the best experience with math in general, I was extremely worried I would not do good in this class. However, Professor Hamby was the most amazing professor I have had so far. There is quite a lot of homework on mymathlab but it truly helps and is a direct reflection of the tests. She is super helpful and caring.

Ms. Hamby is probably one of the sweetest professors I've had so far. She will dedicate time outside of class for you if you ask. There's a good amount of work, but if you go to class and ASK questions you will do really well. She had a few "discussion" grades that were easy 100's.

Susan Hamby is a very dedicated Prof. and relates most of the work back into the real world. She is upbeat and explains thoroughly until everyone understands. So don't be afraid to ask questions! However she does give a huge homework load but if you manage your time and have a good work ethic you will be fine. She also gives partial credit on tests

She is an amazing teacher. She gives a tremendous workload, but that's how you pass math. You do the problems so many times that when you go to take the test, it's like muscle memory. You just know what to do. If your going for at min a bachelor's then this workload is nothing compared to what's to come. Esp in math and science fields. She's great

If you attend class everyday she gives you a chance to replace your lowest grade, she gives extra credit, and lets you retake a test. There is no way why you should fail, this class is super easy if you pay attention to the examples she gives because she gives you an idea of the test. She is a terrific instructor!!!

She is great teacher, but the amount of homework given is ungodly! Expect to spend hours on end on homework assignments. This is the hardest B I have EVER earned. Miss one lesson and you will be completely lost. I really wish she would understand that we have other classes and most students have to work and this class really takes a tool on student

There is so much homework. There are assignments due every weekend at midnight so be ready to do lots of work. Other than the amount of homework she is an AMAZING teacher. She is the reason I passed with a B. I am so happy to have taken her class!

Prof. Hamby is very demanding, as many of the students have mentioned: there are lots of assignments. If you consider why are you going to school? for the grade or for the education. Education will come regardless in this class; you will learn. However, if you apply yourself; you will get the grade also. How much are you willing to invest?

I would not have passed college algebra without Prof. Hamby! Visiting her during her office hours was always so helpful, she would help me work through problems on homework! She did assign a whole lot of homework and extra blog assignments but they were all worth it for me. I HIGHLY recommend her!

She's a fantastic teacher, but you have to be willing to apply yourself. There is tons and tons and tons of homework's and quizzes, but it's manageable if you take the time to do it, and she's always willing to help and answer and questions.

Do not take this class if you do not have internet access or a computer. This class has tons of online homework. If you do the homework, you will pass. However, if you do not do the homework you will not pass. Be willing to put some serious time into this class, and do not take it if you are lazy. Great teacher, very helpful and kind.

Mrs. Hamby is an awesome teacher who obviously loves what she does. She knows her math well and is very good at teaching it. She is also funny in a cheesy way and makes the class enjoyable. The only thing I could say is she gives a lot of assignments. They pay off in the end. If you aren't down for a lot of work don't waste hers or your time.

Mrs. Hamby is an excellent teacher!! Shes very passionate about math and it shows. She is very clear on what she wants. I loved going to her class but their is A LOT OF HOMEWORK. I spent hours on homework almost everyday. If you aren't pretty good at math then don't take this class. Shes a good teacher but too much homework.

Susan is an excellent math teacher! She knows math and is passionate about teaching. There is a lot of homework and quiz's, but, when you leave that class, you know your stuff. She even EMAILS YOU BACK, (WHOA what a thought)! She dictates her rules the first day and follows them to the T. superb teacher hands down it's a treat to be her student.

WAY TOO MUCH HOMEWORK. Mrs. Hamby does not cover everything you need to know in class. She may cover a portion of the material and then she expects you to go home and learn the rest on your own. I don't reccomend her for anyone who isn't a "math person". I didn't feel like our class time prepared me for the homework or the test.
