Took Writing about Civil Rights - writing intensive so lots of papers, but fantastic class. The lectures were super interesting and the reading complemented them well. Learned way more than I thought I would about the civil rights era. Would highly recommend for anyone interested in that time period or who needs a fascinating WI course

Miller is an incredibly nice guy and very helpful outside of class. He's pretty quiet, and lectures tend to be pretty boring. Our TA made tests harder this year and focused on tiny details. The TA also started an attendance sheet, so now you do have to go, but I dont know if Miller will continue it next semester. Very interesting topic though.

Professor Miller was great. You don't need to come into his Civil Rights class with prior knowledge of the era, but after the class you become a true expert. Very fair teacher who wants you to do well. Make sure to attend the review sessions he holds - they are extremely helpful!

Took American Politics and Micro Organizational Politics with Prof. Miller. He presents material VERY clearly and is a very fair grader. You'll get a lot out of the material if you put enough time into reading and discussions. The best political science prof out there.

Prof. Miller is a wonderful lecturer. He is helpful, and wants everyone to do well. He was very accomodating when I was sick and could not come to an exam. I learned a great deal from the course, the readings were interesting and helpful, and the tests were not difficult. I reccomend this course to anyone.

Politics of the Civil Rights Movement is a great class. Don't need to know much about PoliSci other than what you've been taught in Amer Politics but the material still great. A lot of reading, but it's all relevant. Exams are easy if you know your stuff-- he doesn't try to trick you, but you have to pay attn to detail. I rec this class to everyone

Amer. Pol is very basic and everything is presented at an elementary level. The readings are a bit old (and the slides are awkwardly formatted), but the fundamentals of politics remain the same. Read the material, engage in discussion and you will get a lot out of this relatively easy class. Gary is friendly and very knowledgable.

Took the class pass/fail, barely went to class after the midterm, didn't study for the final and pulled an A. Moral of the story - take the class for credit if you want an easy A...but it's going to be boring as hell.

The class itself is fine, but the readings are awful. They're comnpletely biased and you never hear the other side of anything. This class is a waste of time.

Took American Pol. pass/fail, hardly went to class, still got an "A". He used old tests to make his final. Easiest class i've have at WU. If you want an easy A and don't mind not learning anything, take this class...but NOT pass/fail! I'm still kicking myself over it! :(
