Doesn't make sense. Interrupts you. HUGE EGO. Boring. Degrading and disrespectful. Will be the first to tell you that you are wrong and that your opinions are incorrect, especially in comparison to his. Rediculously difficult quizes. In my opinion, no ammount of schooling gives you the right to have such an arrogant attitude like he does.

He graduated from a high standard school so he didn't bring his teaching level to his students. He didn't follow his syllabus very well.

While not the best poet at Sinclair, he is the most knowledgeable. He is an excellent professor in the classical sense and his passion for poetry exceeds issues of personality. Yes, he is hard but you learn more from his class than from Dunham or Freeland, though Dunham is the far better poet.

Mitchner is the kind of guy that knows way too much of anything about literature and isn't modest about it. He expects you to know answers to his outrageous questions, then makes you feel stupid for not knowing them. He's very arrogant and brags about everything that he knows. I can't stand being in the same room as this man. DONT take this course!

This man is very arrogant. If you have a problem, don't try to talk to him about it, he will just look at you and possibly ask you why you are stupid and don't get what he is teaching. That's what happened to me. While he does offer extra credit, you better be willing to pay a lot of money for it, because all the plays really add up.

Tough grader on papers, but if your looking to be a Lit. or Eng. major, this is the one for you. He is kinda fun to listen to, but be ready to write your fingers to the bone. You had better had paid attn. in Comp. 111 & 112 also.

There's not a whole lot of homework, although there is a project due sometime during the quarter. If you're not really interested in Literature, you might feel kind of stupid in his class. He tends to get of track a lot. He's okay. Not the best teacher I've ever had, but not too bad either.

I had him for both a mythology class and composition 113. Negatives: Attendence is required, if you miss more than 3 daysyour grade is lowered a letter, but u can make them up. Talks to you like your stupid if you don't know every short story ever written, Myth quizes were very hard. PLUS: Makes u work and really learn, really knows his stuff.

I was worried about taking this class because I had a class with him earlier and he was SO MEAN. But I dropped that class. However, he changed. He's very knowledgeable but sometimes I think he sorta rubs it in that he's so educated, like he's cocky about it. Overall I really enjoyed the class and thought he was a good professor and decent guy.

thinks he knows everything and anyone else's opinion doesn't matter. he isnt fair throughout the quarter and picks favorites from day one. and dont even think about missing a class for your dads retirement, he won't except any "excuses" for missing classes. he deducts the points from your grade - ridiculous. glad hes gone

He is knows more than the average professor. His personality could rub some the wrong way, but if you want someone who knows a large amount of literature he is your man.

He's smart and has a lot to say about English and Literature. He expects you to work, but he's not unreasonable about it. A little grouchy at times. I'm taking him again. Oh, and Mr. whiny 16 yo - I was 14 when I took his class. I did fine. I don't think age has anything to do with it. Your fault for going on vacation in the middle of quarter.

GM is smart and interesting. He does have standards, but they are not impossibly high. I took two of his classes and both were great. Enjoyed myself and learned quite a bit about the subject matter.

He shares all he knows with his students and is a wonderful person to know. He makes his classes interesting.I am proud to be able to say that I knew GARY MITCHNER!

ok- the cry baby kid who said GM tried to fail him b/c he was only 16 and had to go on a family vacation... COME ON! GROW UP! it's college- why should the rules be different for you b/c you're only 16? Stay in High School- obviously you aren't mature enough for college.

Had him for three classes in one quarter, and loved each one. In Shakespeare, he went through the plays and explained each one. In Greek Lit. we studied the original myths then poetry based on them. And in creative poetry, he enjoyed my silly ditties that fulfilled the requirements. True English majors learn from him. The rest can bugger off!
