Liberal and puts it in his lectures - but as conservative found it enjoyable. Makes class exciting. Did not read book (only skimmed key words) and got a B+ at end of semester. You can participate but in such a large class not mandatory. Helpful.

Great proffesor, he knows almost everything there is to know about politics its almost ridiculous. He can just spout off random facts from state constitutions and he makes it easy for anyone to understand. Highly recommend him to anyone in any if his classes.

He is a great Professor. Only 3 Exams that are mainly multiple choice with a 4th optional exam to pull your grade up. Although State and Local Governments can get a little boring he always tries to make it more interesting and get the class involved. Would definitely take a class from him again!!!

Great teacher, funny too. Really knows his stuff and does a great job of explaining what could be a dreadfully boring subject. Once you get a feel for his testing style this class is a breeze, but just in case he provides an optional final for a score boost.

Probably one of the best professors I've had yet here at BSU. Uses lots of real world examples in lectures, and always asks if there are any questions before proceeding to the day's lesson. Tests are a little hard if you do not read the book. Make sure to take lecture notes as well. Study both and you'll do fine. Highly recommend!

It does not get better than Dr. M. He is nationally recognized as a leader in the study of state politics and their structures. If you want the best of BSU than take any of his classes.

I have taken Moncrief for 302 312 and 102 and loved having him. Rarely does one find a professor that is a great lecturer, a fair grader, and one who assigns reasonable amounts of work. His upper division classes are awesome take them even if your not a poli sci major

Class is relaxed and fun. He has a great sense of humor but his tests are tricky. Don't let his looseness fool you. Actually read and study for his 3-4 tests, listen to his hilarious jokes and its all gravy.

Prof. Moncrief is a great lecturer - he is an expert on his subject and makes it very entertaining. It's not incredibly difficult, but you do need to both go to class and read the book to do well on tests, and tests are the only things that count towards your grade.

Probably the best prof I've had while at BSU. Has a great sense of humor and throughly knows his subjects and conveys them well. I wouldn't say he is necessarily easy, his expectations are clear and tests are straightforward, just don't fall behind in the readings.
