I actually loved this class. He is a fair grader, and I can tell you for a fact if you make an effort to get into his office hours and schedule appointments to talk about ideas for your papers, it will reflect in your grade. As soon as I started asking for help my average paper grade went up about 5 points. Lectures are a little dry.

Gary is a very nice guy. He seems very passionate about what he teaches. Gives really good feedback when it comes to papers. His lectures can be a little dry but it could just be the material. The class however doesn't need to be 75 minutes--this might be another reason the class seems long and drawn out. Easy A.

Very kind teacher and gives great feedback. There is a fair amount of writing but is lenient when grading. I would take this class again.

Not bad, except that anything below a 95%, even a 94.99% is an A-. A few papers, but it's all relatively interesting. There is quite a few readings that you have to keep caught up on. He's a very good, caring professor though.

I guess he's nice, and people like him because not much effort is needed for getting a nice grade. But I didn't learn anything in his class. He doesn't seem to have a deep understanding of the topic. And for a writing intensive class, the way he grades the writing assignments is pretty lazy.

Literally one of the best instructors I have had at the U so far. He cares about your writing, he wants you to think deeply about subject material. When I went to office hours with him we even had a nice chat about his law career and it was great. No matter the department he is in, he is insightful and always willing to help his interested students

Makes the material interesting, even if this type of class isn't your style. If you show up to class and listen, you should have no problem passing this class with an A. He is a very easy grader and his tests are very straight forward. The weekly quizzes are not difficult and are generally 5 multiple choice questions. He is a VERY nice guy

Gary is a super friendlyfair guy. Really passionate about his class and makes lectures interesting enough even if Lit isn't your favorite thing. Quizzes once a week, show up and you'll get 2020. Can miss 2 classes, midterms are piece of cake.. the one paper we had wasn't graded tough at all. Take him!

Gary is an awesome teacher! Definitely one of my favorites. He really cares about his students and the subjects he teaches. Read the assignments because there are often daily 10pt quizzes, two midterms that are easy if you study, and no final! Also the mock trial is super fun. Overall great class and teacher.

Gary is an amazing teacher. The class is interesting. Read the assignment because quizzes are taken most mornings worth 15 points each. There are two exams worth 200pts each, easy, follow the study guide closely and attend the review session, and you'll receive a good grade. Mock trial, fun, easy, show up, and play your part.

I enjoyed his class. It didn't take much work to get a good grade. No textbook, but there is a novel. Mock trial was easy, I belive almost everyone recieved a B or higher. There are four papers, again, not very difficult. He is boring in lecture, but all notes are on WebVista. Case reading is easy. A good class.
