worst teacher i have ever had. If you can understand math with little to no instruction, go for it. If not i do not recommend this class.

Lets you use your notes and past quizzes on exams. He also lets you omit a certain amount of problems on quizzes, midterm and the final. Overall, if you do the homework he assigns (not for points) and understand each section of each chapter then you will do fine considering that he lets you use notes. Get help too because it is hard to fall behind.

Professor Phillips is extremely intelligent and kind in person. He is always willing to show you the problems you did not do correctly on quizzes and homework. But, his quizzes do not match the material on the homework, and he often introduces new concepts on them that weren't covered in class. Open notes and book every quiz and test though.

Comment:
Stats 345 was pretty difficult. The homework is relatively easy. The tests are nothing like the homework, and you can only get up to two wrong to get an A on the quizes. Unless you know advanced math and are good at reading trick questions, do not take this class. I would never recommend it.

He seems like a really nice guy but he's not the best teacher. he's pretty lenient on the grading of the tests and quizzes, but seems to have trouble in explaining the material. He also rushed through material at the end of the semester and expected us to be able to understand it for the final. Outside help is a necessity if you want to do well.

Prof Phillips tries, but he is lacking. He allows open notes, and allows you to omit some of the problems on the quizzes. But he does not cover what he tests on very well. Any questions asked to him, he finds it very difficult to do anything other than point to the board and repeat what he last said. The class had stopped bothering to ask questions

This professor is very challenging and not very helpful. His test are all open note, open book however the test are nothing like the notes or book. He even puts new concepts on the quiz. I would not suggest this course.

His class was challenging, but not that difficult if you understand what he is talking about. He was not very helpful for many students who were struggling, but if you're somewhat good at math, you'll do fine. This is a good class if you're looking for a slight challenge in math even if he says it's easy.

He is really nice and tries hard to get the students interested about stats. As long as you take notes during class (you get to use them on tests...REALLY similar problems) you will be fine. He lets you omit a certain number of problems on each test. Really good teacher and class!

I don't know why everyone hates Phillips. He's a really nice guy, he goes through everything step by step. He restates things if you dont understand. You get to use notes, homework and previous quizzes for other quizzes and tests. This class can't get any easier! Ignore the evil comments!

This class was pointless, all he was concerned about was how to use a calculator. He never made time for his students. He never talked to us directly. The chalkboard appealed to him much more. He is just a rambiling idiot, just as bad as Kowalke!!!!!

very unhelpful and unclear.. has no compassion for his students, makes no efforts to help his students, does not make the effort to tutor or help students outside of class, teaches to the chalk board and the ground
