Awesome teacher! Had such a great personality and really easy going. Lets you turn things in late. Had about five essays, relates his class to the Hobbit many times. Sometimes he can ramble on about nothing, so a little boring. But overall a really good teacher. Helps out with writing essays. He overall wants you to do well in his class.

Paul (as he likes to be called) is an extremely intelligent man. At times, his methods of old are a little tedious, but he always gets his point across. He's a pretty fair grader, and is more than willing to take extra time to help his students. He has a tendency to be pretty funny, too.

Easy class, five essays + one in class, but he made the last one extra credit. One book--The Hobbit. Final was easy. The hardest thing about this class is going to the class and staying awake. Really nice professor, but the biggest overlapper. The monotone and quiet voice makes it hard to know what is going on in class.

Gary is a cool teacher. He is really understanding when things come up in life and accepts late assignments. Class can be boring at times but he usually cracks a joke or two. Take him easy class and fun.

I found Mr. Phillips to be a fantastic teacher, who really enjoys teaching. I learned a lot from his class. I really improved my reading speed and ability. Mr. Phillips is willing to help you, all you have to do is ask. I hope to take future English classes with him. Not much homework, just voocabulary words and sentences due weekly,and reading.

Must take him! He is really great, very understanding of late work! If you attend the class do your work you'll get an A, you have to write 6 or 7 papers, on was in class... Beware of the research paper though, it's not as easy as they make it sound, the prompts were really lacking. Great teacher.

He is a great teacher. He repeats himself alot. He tries his hardest to be funny. He thinks we laugh at his jokes, but we are laughing at him. I learned alot and I am glad I took his class. You write like 7 essays, 4 of them were paragraphs. He gives you 14 total points, each error he docks 1 point. He is very understanding about late work.

This is an excellent instructor and an excellent class! The rigor is ,well, rigorous... 13-15,000 words for an 'A'. But ,that's what writing a novel entails...lots of writing. And, certainly, Prof Phillips is very caring and will help you throughout.

He's one of the nicest teacher's I've met. His class was really easy, and his books for class readings are really interesting. He's a bit absent-minded and will forget about class sometimes (he forgot to make us our final even, and just counted the last essay as the final).
