Gary Ross is the reason why I changed my major to accounting! I really enjoy his teaching style. He really makes sure you know the material. The only thing is, your overall grade is 4 exams. I really like him as a person and a professor. He really encourages questions and participation.

Comment:

At least for the class I took him in, Ross only based our grade on 4 exams and a Monopoly project. He has a very strange demeanor and I hated every second of the class. Not the worst class I have ever taken, but definitely my least favorite accounting class. Do not take Ross unless you have to.

Super nice! Won't let you fail if you just talk to him for help. He likes class participation and will call on everyone to answer questions but he totally understand if you don't know the answer. Most of the grade only comes from tests.

Mr. Ross is so amazing. I went in very hesitant due to the fact I had no background in accounting. He goes through problems step by step multiple different times to make sure every student understands. He will always go over something that is relevant for the tests, which are just working problems. There's no busy work, and I learned a lot.

Not a bad class overall. He teaches by going through examples in the book & his tests are pretty similar to the book problems. Monopoly isn't too bad. He'll make corrections on it before you turn it in, so you can fix it. Online homework is annoying, but not terrible. Come to class - it'll help you understand and study for tests.

I liked him as a teacher alot. You just do the work so you know it. It all depends on how you learn. Not alot of lecturing, just alot of doing the problems so you understand it. The Monopoly Project is alot of fun in 203.
