Very intelligent man. Uses practical examples that are memorable/interesting in lectures. Practical, creative and well thought out group project. Case solutions explained thoroughly. He doesn't just care about students doing well on exams, he cares about them doing well in life. Take advantage of it. Superpower includes: remembering everyones name

Comment:

Lectures are not so interesting, but he's very intelligent, nice, and approachable. He would spend half the class discussing cases although most students are often half-minded. You need to remember your 2510 stuff very well before his lectures can be useful. He's got exceptional memory! He WILL remember everyone's name, so speak and participate!

WORST, hope he gets his feedback from school and hope he dosesn't teach anymore. Because what he does is he literally reads off the answer sheet and that's his explanation. I do not want to pay tuition for that low quality of teaching. He should not be teaching, he should rather learn more. AVOID HIM AT ALL COST. WORST PROF

Comment:

Prof. Spraakman is super intelligent. He has a unique teaching style where he prefers to go through very clever cases (from his own published case book) and discuss them w/ the class. Overall, this course gave me a clearer understanding of many concepts taught in 2510 and the readings and practice problems do not take long at all. Listen & learn!

Not the best prof. barely teaches the actual core of the material. instead, mainly focuses on cases (which are ambiguous) and rants off about the 'real world' but doesn't really teach the actual textbook material which we are tested on, which i think he should. with that said, i feel he also expects less, if that makes sense?

Terrible. Probably the worst professor I have ever had; he's not the most boring lecturer, but is instead vague, unhelpful and obnoxious. His sketchy textbook site gave my computer a virus and his group project was gratuitously difficult, but worth a mere five percent. His participation marks are awful too. How do you mess up participation?

If you take this class with him and do bad on the midterms, that means you dont do your homework, As exams are EXTREMELY similar to the problems he does in class. Practically the same thing. Advice: just do the problems he goes through in class several times and you should be good for both midterms.

I have no idea what he is like in live lecture, but online, he's a waste of time. 25 minute "lectures" literally outline how to read the text.There is no summary, explanation or examples.You'll hear a lot of "make sure you study pg 100, it's important" with absolutely no further explanation.You're on your own. Only class I've received less than B+.

He cannot teach at all...what you get from attending the class is equal to not attending the class. He is the easiest prof compared to other profs who teach this course since he tests you on the questions at the back of each chapter but it is nice if he puts at least some effort in making the concepts clear.

He doesnt teach concepts from the texts. He has his own teaching style. U might get a quiz on something from the textbooks or things youve never seen before. He quizzes on ideas not taught in class. He doesnt have good teaching skills i.e. he knows a lot but cant teach well. The course is disorganized. Some get 90s some get 40s, no middle ground.

He's the one who wrote the textbook! I think thats more than enough to know not to take this course with him. You never take a course with the same prof who wrote the textbook. That's like asking to be failed on purpose. There are many profs teaching this 2510 course. Take with one of them if you have intentions of getting a satisfying mark!
